you know why that fat rubber is looking odd ? because it's not clean [;)] buy some tyre cleaners and shiners , cheap ones but with results and every 4-5 days shine the tyres. will look great then.

i will not buy expensive products like meguairs for tyre applications. not a good idea to spend on tyres on indian roads.

there are indian companies , sheeba and amwax ( not amway) they have various products try that.

Re: DIY For My Hyundai i10 (Wheel Caps) - Completed

Ingredients:

  • Sanding Paper (I used 220 & 150).
  • Primer Spray (I used Just Brand. Its OK types. On some occasions the paint spilled out of can when I shake it. Use Bosny Brand if you find it). Single can would suffice.
  • Latex Gloves (Optional if you are ready to get a little dirty).
  • Aerosol Spray Paint (I used Just & Bosny. If you get a chance go for Bosny As its the Best). I bought 2 Black & 1 Red Can.
  • Doctor Tape, Scissors or cutter(I would recommend to avoid the cutter as it may peel of the paint).

Now the Recipe(Just don't boil anything [;)]) :

  1. Wash the caps, remove all the dust from the gaps and other places.
  2. After washing it let it dry for 5-10 mins so that there is no water before you start sanding.
  3. Next up is sanding the caps. Use the 150 grit first sand it properly with soft hands this would remove all the silver color from the caps.
  4. Then use 220 grit sand paper rub it with soft hands this will make the surface neat and clean.
  5. Setup a place where you can start the spraying process.
  6. We will have to spray the primer first two coats of it with a gap of 10-15 mins.
  7. Keep it to dry for a day. Next day Wash it with water as it may get dusty over night. Let it dry for some time.
  8. Now is the time to paint. For this I will follow the paint combo I used. So I did a Black over Red.
  9. I first sprayed the red painting all the Lips. Kept them to dry overnight so that the paint sticks properly.
  10. Next day I masked the complete red lip area with doctor tape. Before taping though, I wiped the cap clean (same reason overnight dirt).
  11. Now was the time for the Black. Sprayed the black all over the caps so that no area is left.
  12. I used a to and fro motion while spraying left to right. Single coat did the job for me. Left it for some 15 mins and then removed the tapes.
  13. I would recommend you all to use clean paper in place of complete doctor tape as tape leaves glue marks on the red area which I was unable to remove.
  14. Enjoy the moment you have done a lot of hard work for this perfect outcome [clap]. Take a deep breathe and complete all the four caps [glasses].
  15. At last keep them to dry up completely may be over night.

For Each step I have Clicked Some pics and uploaded you need to go through the thread.

One pic I missed I believe is the masking one so here you go:
