Tata Safari Winger? Haven't heard of such a vehicle. It has 150A alternator right?

It is for both safari and winger, missed to put / in between. Hope the info helps.

Sankar, there are quite a few wingers here.Big van kind of vehicles.

It does have a 150amp alternator.Sankar your best bet is the gujri.

You better take measurements of your stock alternator and compare it with the Winger alternator.Also check the pulley.

Thanks a lot guys. Couldn't find anything in scrapyard in my city. Hard to find in scrapyards in my city as they breakup the vehicle and deal only in certain parts which are commonly sourced

Can you help me find one in scrapyards in your respective cities?

Or else how much will a brand new Safari alternator cost?

It would cost around 12k. Check if it fits.

Swaraj alternator you mentioned has 150amphere ratings right? It costs only 12k? Does it actually provide 150amphere at startup or at particular high rpm ranges?

AFAIK Swaraj mazda is a minibus.

If so then the RPM rev range will be lower.

AFAIK, the alternator would not produce 150 amps as soon as it spins.
The alty produces as per the load.

For example - If you are just driving the car, the alty would produce say 20 amps for the engine, another 10 amps for battery charging. Later if you turn on A/C or head lamps it would start producing according to the load.

In swift or any modern cars, as soon as the load is high the engine rmp would slightly increase so that the alty can produce the amount of power required.

Sankar, you will need to take your alternator to a TVS shop and check if the Swaraj Mazda one has the same dimensions.

If not you may have to do some mods to get it to fit.They may have something that would fit you perfectly as well.You will have to go to the shop and check for yourself.

Thanks buddy. Will contact him but i have to import them from abroad which means costly shipping charges around 100$ and 37% customs duty for the whole amount including cost of product and shipping. Damn the taxes

Buddy this actually is the showroom of Mahindra & Mahindra in Trivandrum. I doubt if i will find any info on alternators there. But still let me check about them. Will let you know once i contact them.
