Re: Diesel Sedan Under 10L: Urgent Buy in 10 Days

Congrats on your new acquisition Tornado78. You seem to have got a pretty nice deal as well on the Verna diesel. Can you give us the break-up of the discount offered to you.

Those FE figure is absolutely exceptional. Haven't heard anyone getting something similar in the Verna CRDI. Let us know when you calculate it by the tankful method, this will tell more accurately.

Congrats Tornado! I also have a Verna SX CRDi 1.6. Good car to own.

Waiting for your ownership review. Welcome to Verna league!

Regarding fuel efficiency, I have driven 1800 Kms so far and it gives me 14kmpl of diesel in average and max FE I got is never more than 17 kmpl. Not sure if my car got some problem. I am driving since 5 years and drive light foot without any rash driving. Now feeling bit disappointed :(

Thanks a lot,

See FE is directly related to the followings;

1.) Driving style
2.) Volume of traffic & jams
3.) Fuel Quality
4.) Load in the vehicle

I can see you are in Bangalore and driving only in congested bumper to bumper traffic only that's the main reason you are getting only 14-15 kmpl or 17 kmpl, whereas in Delhi even in peak hours you get long stretches where you can drive your car comfortably. So don't feel down just take it to highway and drive it on a leasure pace i.e. around 80 kmph in sixth gear and change as per eco mode suggest and than I bet you'll get this figure.
