Hi Friends, Update : How to check when the car was dispatched from Maruti to dealer. Today he again gave me the the VIN of the car and that says car is Jul 2015 manufactured. But he is saying the car was dispatched by Maruti in Nov 2015 and reached them today. How to validate that he is not lying.
Samo, I am attaching below some important pics that shall help you in checking your car at Stockyard. These pics include the dispatch slip with proper date/time and the VIN. These pics were taken by my friend when I had booked an Ertiga and went for its PDI at stockyard.

Hi Akash, how to confirm the slip is genuine and not "self printed" by the dealer. I think they are playing big foul play, could be that "dekho pahale natak kiya, abhi humane usase bhi purana car deke ekdum bewakoof banaya".. I mean, this is typical Indian attitude of hishonest people. I have totally lost faith in the brand and the dealer.

Buddy these slips are never printed by dealer. They are printed at Plant with proper details. I do agree in the Indian scenario it is difficult to trust professional authenticity but at some level, the customer has to believe the dealer. If you are not believing the dealer then at least you can believe what you see in Flesh. You can trust your own eyes at least. Do check the car in stockyard for these documents. It will be there surely.

@Akash and Samo:
IMO Ciaz is not such a slow seller in either petrol or diesel guise that MSIL will be providing the dealers with such an old stock. As much I remember, the dealers do keep such an old stock but MSIL doesn't pile up such large inventories (They strictly follow lean production with supply demand matching).

I have my own set of doubts if this car is dispatched by MSIL in November, this is Ciaz, not Aria which is stuffed in manufacturer stockyards and is needed to be pushed to market.

My suggestion is simple:
Confirm the dispatch from MSIL itself and then either demand heavy discounts or a fresh manufactured car, that's it.

I am surprised that no one from MSIL has bothered to contact me. REpenting for booking Ciaz, looks like it's a failed car and Maruti is a new company with customer DNA dead and Honda City would have been a better bet.

Buddy hold your horses and have a word with the dealership guys. Looks like the dealer is trying to push the old car again. Else you have an another option to get your refund (even applying for the same will make them think again) anf book the same car with some other dealer or go for the likes of City etc.

Hi Friends,
Special thanks to TSIVIpul and Akash1886.
I checked with Maruti Regional HQ at Bandra. Booooyyyy. Thie Regional Manager was SUPER QUICK. I mean, that's true Maruti. He confirmed the dispatch date, productiondate, dispatch number, called up his colleague and also checked if it's not a pre-Aug version which is old... And everything is as communicated to me by Navnit Motors. So, I can say,m the lost trust is regained. I will do the PDI in the afternoon.
Feeling relieved. Whatever it may be, the product company has to understand that, the customer will believe them more than their dealers and distributors. It would have been very great if Maruti would have upfront contacted me and explained this, when I send 4-5 emails in last 14 hours.
But ok.. chhod do..
Now wish me good luck that the car is really good... and we enjoy it for years to come.

SaMo.

Got the number from Thane RTO today. It was an EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. They charged me Rs 5000 but ALL OFFICIAL. The RTO lady employee at the counter for special number Mrs Patil, guided me perfect. She was so efficient. Hats off to her,, such govt employees should really get salaries and perks at par with MNCs. She was so busy and efficient and yet very helpful. If al the govt services become such efficient, for sure, people will not mind paying extra money as fees or official tip. And India will not have to look at other countries for technology, money and jobs.
Next update later.

Thanks to all the senior member for helping SAMO, as i was in exact similar situation last year when buying my first car. Here dealer played the same trick, considering sometime lack of knowledge/experience of customer, so i eventually got this in writing/email from company itself, so that we dont have this issue while selling the car in future.

Hi All,

This is my first post in this forum. I already booked a Maruti Suzuki S-cross which is supposed to be delivered on 28th Dec. However I got the VIN no from my Nexa RM and I'm looking for decoding the VIN number (MA3FNEB1SOO1003*9). I'll appreciate if I can get help to decode the VIN.

Thanks & Regards,
Arinnh
