Hi, The SMD LEDs on ebay have very low wattage as compared to stock bulbs so there is no issue in using them.

I wouldn't purchase any smd leds because they're so hard to work with. they need special soldering equipment and all. your best bet will be 1w or 3w power leds and salvage heatsinks form old computers. leds cannot be compared to old bulbs with watts like that. they're about 5 tines efficient so do your math.

@ BHVM, The LEDs Which he's talking abut are pre soldered on bulb base and they are simple plug-n-play. Just remove the bulb and fit these.

ohh... those.
I've seen that piece of Junk. they have no heatsinks and no current regulation. may last a few months. I'd steer clear of this Chinese no name products.

SMD don't need heat sink or current regulation (the one mentioned by the above and there are good quality Chinese stuff with better life.

ANY Led or semiconductors will need current regulation. automotive voltage is very dirty and could fluctuate a lot. If anyone of you buys those, keep me posted about the results.

I have installed at least 5 '"bought from shop smd park lights" for various bikes, never konked off till now. If LED strips can withstand the fluctuation, then these can. I have made at least 25 sets custom T10 bulbs with SMD, including the one for my backlit, only specific batch konked off, means difference in quality. None of the red ever blown away, none of them from one particular brand blown off, cheapest smds dead after some 3-4 months of use. Electronics aint that complicated. If you even check the led backlit of various cars including ritz tacho, you can find only 3 led in series and 1 resistor, nothing more to regulate the current. Quality is what matters.

Am not worried about steeling, if it it is done only once and it is gone. am talking about some people peel it or try to do some nasty things (not steeling) if this is exposed outside.

Yeah, Indian Public is notorious for such things. However, my Car is parked inside compound. God knows the future.
