Just checked in paper the comparison prices of all diesel hatches and just now realized Beat is the cheapest diesel Hatch available in our market now! Yes it has only an 1L engine but that should be good enough for daily city runs and some highway trips too. Of course without a TD its difficult to judge the performance of the engine.


Also read in paper that Beat has the longest service interval of 15,000KMS or 1.5years! It also has the 3 year Chevrolet promise , this is going to be one diesel car which will be light on pocket overall.

Yes by the early look of it, it does look like a cheap option to own as a diesel car, but IMO it will serve city purpose only with rare or occasional not so long highway trips. This car is designed keeping city traveling in mind. With such a little boot space, you can hardly carry anything around. It needs to be seen whether the avg indian buyer has matured a bit or still just goes by saving a few thousands!

I just inquired about the On-Road price of Beat Diesel in Bangalore and quite disappointed with the pricing.

The base variant(metallic) is just 23K less than its rival Ford Figo Diesel - 5.50 (Base variant) . I was very curious to get a Beat Diesel and after the prices got revealed I'm bit disappointed. I'm planning to TD it during the weekend and make my final decision. I feel Beat Diesel is not going to make a big impact in Indian Market and too GM is planning for price hike after couple of months. Guys what do you think after its pricing ?

for its price , just some grand more say a 30 to 40 , we get a figo or swift
bigger in space and engine!

Somehow i am not disappointed with the Beat Diesel. I was always expecting a smaller heart under the hood. The comparatively lesser price tag, attractive styling and mouth watering fuel efficiency would surely bring in decent sales if not a big number.

indica ev2 is priced same and more refinement from tata and good fe!

Heavy price as compared to figo or swift.
Figo has got all new design with big engine and great space.
Swift has got string ASS and Fiat heart.
In case of Beat less powered engine Less space doubtfull ASS
IMO its Old model beat has launched long back.
And prices are comparative to swift/figo.
@Chevy donch u hired business analyst before this launch.
After knowing this price tag I have decided not to go for TD also.

I am laughing at powerpacked.Figo got all new design???????,from which world are you coming.Figo was launched just 2-3 months after beat.Beat ia an internatinal car,where as figo is not,its a decade old car.Its the front design that saves figo in terms of looks.Beat is very moder be it in interiors when compared to figo.We had a very bad experience with ford till 2009 when we had our ford ikon.But my mother says it only figo which is having loww maintainace i their line up.The tdci is not that great.My relative got some engine problem i think in his ford fieta which costed a bomb to repair and he replaced that car with a petrol car after.
Who said swift has more space than beat (legroom).Beat has better city ride quality.Have ride to believe it.Beat has ver low maintaince as per comapny arguments.
But I agree,if I were in to buy diesel car at this price point I would chose figo as it has better handling and boot.
I feel price of beat diesel in on higher side,but has quality.I thought beat would be cheaper as it has 3 cly,but review state that nvh levels is quite good.
Chevy got wrong pricng,I agree.
I think they could have give the full mjd with 25 k more,make the suspension stiff,the fastest diesel hatchback(may be).
After the lauch of beta D our beat petrol seems a terrific vfm(80.5 hp,108nm,18.kmpl arai)

i think beat D at 4.29 is not gud news for gm, for almost same cost one can buy ritz or figo with beter powerful engine and more space ,
as far as engine is concerned thumbs down for beat D
