Chennai – Wayanad – Coorg – Chennai via Bangalore and Mysore

why 2 nights in mysore ?

Just want to break the travel distance , As of today I have did only 250km in a stretch.

Even return stay can be planned in Bangalore

I see there are 2 routes from Mysore to Wayanad.



Which one is good and preferred?

I have planned to take SH33 from Mysore so that I can cover Kuruva Island.

I have read in one blog to take SH33 for to Wayanad and NH212 back to Mysore to enjoy both the routes. Can anyone comment on this?

I suggested the route in my first reply.(Its the Bangalore Kanakpura -Malavalli Road-NH 209).This route later on connects to SH 33.Nice roads and the scenary are also good.

One more point ,I see that in your route between Sultan Bathery and Gundalpet you are crossing Bandipur National park,caution here, as no crossing the forest during 6PM to 6AM.

Dont get stuck here.

Does it mean, that, I should take the route NH 209 and not the Mysore - Bangalore highway, to travel from Bangalore to Mysore.

BTW, I stay in a Hotel near Mysore palace and start early afternoon, site seeing Mysore Palace.

If you are not going to Coorg the NH209-SH 33 route is a good option .While coming or going you can try the route.
