Probably you are correct Dhaya but have you seen many or few more Jazz in Chennai. Because I have not seen any in Delhi / Gurgaon. But according to your point yes even i have not seen much new Jazz's either. But i dropped into showroom like a prospective Jazz buyer , so i think the SE would not have lied to me saying i have to wait for the new model.

I have following as car specific figures for July.
FABIA -1403
PUNTO - 925
JAZZ - 275
POLO - 3507
If the figures are correct then there is no impact on Jazz discount and Punto is selling moderately even after upgrade offer. To me it was little confusing, not sure about others though.

Again sad to see the sales figure for Italian beauty Punto compared to other cars. This is a perfect example how a superb car is unable to do wel due to poor strategy from Fiat Please wake up Fiat India. Want to see more beauties (Linea and Punto) on the road.

The monthly sales reported by manufacturing company are the sales between Company and its dealer (as no company directly sales to end customer, always sales through dealer). The Jazz numbers have not increased even after discount because the price reductions were done in order to clear dealers stock. .
As there is rumor / news floating that Jazz upgrade is coming hence Honda must have not either manufactured or (may be) manufactured but not shipped the new Jazz. Hence the numbers are low for the month.

I have done some analysis for Jul-11 hatchback sales. Only 4 cars showed positive numbers.
Alto, Rites (May be some of swifts customer must have opted for Rites), Beat (New Diesel variant launched) and Polo.
Surprisingly, the biggest discount car for month, Jazz was negative, the most fuel efficient diesel HB, Tata Indica /Vista was also negative. Moreover, hared that Hyundai was giving 30-50K discount on its cars but still all Hyundai HB were in red for Jul-11.
PS. Liva being new launched, not compared. To some extend, this applies to Beat also.

The swift is nothing but an OVERHYPED MEDIOCRE HATCHBACK inn my humble opinion.
