mainly due to sluggish market condition and non-production of hatchback Swift as the company is preparing to launch a new version of the car soon.

I think, we should have separate threads for monthly sales by each month. This will really help to analysis month wise sales plus don’t have scan so many pages to find any sales numbers.

For MSIL, last months dip has been the highest since it started production in 1981. Industry is going through a lean period, except for cars like new Verna, VW breeds and M&M, others are struggling. It remains to be seen how they come out of this rut.

i hope ,arrognace from maruthi dealers will come down a little bit. they seems to entertain customers whom come with bunch of cash with closed eyes and mouth shut.

I expect, if the scenario continues for the month of August, Indian market will see huge discounts in the last month of Q2 & hopefully Oct 2011 as well considering the festive season.
Even me too shocked to see the low sales of MS but i think it is partly because of new Swift , i think things will get back to normal after 1 or 2 months. Rest all the manufacturer's have been on the expected lines , no major surprises. Waiting for Hyundai's sales now to see what magic new Verna has created and Honda to see if City has gained momentum after price-cut!
I have heard from a SE from Honda that the sales have gained a good momentum and has surpassed the previous sales figures because of the price decrese. Guess what? He said that the sales of Jazz has also picked up. Not sure if this is wide across but he told about his specific dealership.
I would be shocked to see if there is no improvement in sales of Jazz in particular. After so much discount, if the vehicle is not selling well then I wonder what Honda has to do to increase sales !
