Buying Facelifted Aria: A Good Option?

Spoke with Concorde motors on the status of the delivery and I am in for a bit of a rude shock.
Got to know that car will be delivered earliest by end of this month. I was told that the variant I am looking for has to be manufactured and the manufacturing has still not begun!! It seems Tata Motors will begin manufacturing in batches only, so theoretically if there are not enough booking then I will have to keep on waiting.
Now comes the worst part - He said that the discounts that were offered (30K) will not be applicable this month and he is committing only to a corporate discount of 8K. I said I am ok with there being a change in Ex-Showroom Price, but they cannot renege on the discount committed on a vehicle which has sales in double digit!
He then started offering me 2013 manufactured Pleasure variant and said they have an offer of three years insurance free for 2013 model. I said I am not interested. Then he was asking if I would like to go for PureLx 2014 model which I refused.

abhijeetp, do not accept to all these offers. I too was offered all these things when i was purchasing indica vista. But I stood firm against the dealer and got the product which was orignially alloted by Tata. I got engine & chasis number before the dealer had it. Sounds strange, but I was in direct contact with Tata divisional customer manager. Do not get distracted by these tricks. Test drove the pure LX today ,was delighted with the clutch feel as well as the pickup. But was disappointed that the steering was heavy compared to the safari storme did you feel the same?
I had a very brief test drive, may be 1 Km. so can not comment much on steering feel. I had a very long test drive on old ARIA for more than 100 Km and did not feel steering being hard. I have not driven storme that long to compare with ARIA.
What did you like in Aria overall or what was the reason for buying this model/variant? I am in a similar situation where I am close to finalising the purchase but need to convince a few people around me.
Reasons were quite simple
I need space, ride quality and good GC
Why base model?-- cost. Road tax is prohibitive in Karnataka. I think it is same in AP also. Pleasure model costs on road 14.6-14.75 after discounts. Whereas Pule Lx costs 11.4-11.5, It further gives one the option of having a touch screen BT ICE, which is not possible in Pleasure( One can change the stock audio, but it would like paying twice for audio)
So many people have been using Safari, Innova and scorpio without ABS & rear discs for long.
So it should be Ok for Pure LX without ABS as it has 4 discs.
Comparison wise Pure LX is almost on par with mid variant of Innova.
Cost: 3 lakhs less
Mileage: better than innova; less running cost
service interval: 5K Km vs 15k KM; less maintenance on regular services
GC : 170 mm Vs 200mm
Rear Brakes: Drum Vs discs

Processing fee is fixed at Rs 500/- only.
Franking charges actuals
Insurance from United India, nil depreciation with PA cover for all the passengers- Rs 26500/-
Total discount is Rs 50K(25 cash + 25K exchange)

26500 looks a good deal for insurance. Couple of queries on this. Is this a comprehensive coverage? Does it cover bumpers, glass, lights etc? Did you transfer your existing NCB ?

I have clearly mentioned it is nil depreciation policy. It also includes PA cover for all passengers and medical expenses also. I did not transfer the ncb. Premium paid is without ncb. Directly approach UII. U can get better deal
Hi please update on you ownership regularly even short one liners would do. Any initial niggles ?

@Abhijeet, Any update on your Aria? Its due, by now you should be having a update atleast from Tata. if not then lets try to take up your case. I am sure there would be pretty good references in here to take up your case.

I had logged a complaint last saturday on Tata motors customer support number as there was no information coming across and they were not providing any delivery date as well. After logging the complaint, got around 4 calls from the sales rep and his manager that they are following up and so on.
Finally today got a call from concorde, that they have the confirmation and the vehicle is now manufactured and in plant and will be dispatched in a day or so.
Concorde is saying that I will be getting it by 28/29th.
