What was the offer/discounts? iam planning to book pure LX
Hi RKG, Pure LX though a nice option and price point is absolutely mouthwatering, I would suggest you to go for a version Higher, i know it would be bit heavy on pocket however, I would still suggest you because,

1. PureLX does not have ABS , it has disc brakes but braking a 2 ton mammoth need to have ABS on Highway journey. I have tested PureLX in 2013 July, ride handling was topnotch but still feel that ABS is necessary.

2. It does not have fog lamps, and music system.

Though point 2 is not that compelling to not-go-for this version, ABS is one factor that cannot be ignored.

I know about ABS, but cost is not worth it. here in bangalore the on road price difference is whopping 2.75 lakhs for ABS, 2 airbags and audio, fog lamps.

Also as a word of caution, I would like you to resist yourself from temptation of going for affter market customisation on you new beast. Atleast for the first year, do avoid to do any kind of modifications, especially with electricals and adding Aftermarket alloys.
Use the car with OEM fittings. If you dont have reverse sensors you could get them fitter and seat covers. But other than that try to keep your car as original. Once your car is an year old and with proper running in and service you can then venture into doing mods.
Thanks vikyjoshi for the checklist. I will not be doing any modifications.

I guess you have already gone through my thread : Tata Aria Pride 4X4 - The Gentle Giant
.
sarb19, I had gone through your thread, and the way you had analysed all the potential vehicles to shortlist by giving them points did help me a lot. It was very informative.
Thanks for the Aria checklist.

congratulations for your booking of 2014 Aria. Can you share what final deal you got hold for, how much discounts and accessories were offered, and which shade you finalised.
As other members suggested, do not forget to do a proper PDI before giving it for registerations and ask for morning time and spend with your alloted car, check out every thing patiently and go ahead.
Looking forward to see your ride.

The quoted price was 14.56.
Apart from Life Tax and Insurance this price includes the following -
Extended Warranty 7 K,
AMC (3Y - 20K KM) - 10K
Handling Charges - 7.5K
Registration charges - 3K
I got 30K cash discount on the on-road price and was also offered 5K worth accessories coupon, which they will give at the time of delivery. I am planning to go for outside insurance which will save me around 10 K.
I have selected silver color. There are only 3 options. Black looks very good on Aria, but it needs to be maintained. So was left with White and Silver. I went for silver as it will match my current car wagonr. :-)

Its 10 days since I booked the car, Concorde motors has no update so far. Only information I am getting is that the car is being manufactured, really difficult to believe that Tata Motors are manufacturing Aria only after receiving the order!

A car being manufactured only after the receipt of the order/booking ?
What if one needs a crucial part on his Aria, to be replaced at some point in future ?

Could not resist posting this and sorry for that.

What is the use of 3 years / 20K AMC package?
First oil change is 15 K and next @ 30K as per manual. So TASS will not do any oil change before that under AMC. i do not think 15K service will cost 10K as labour is free being third service.
I will be booking Pure LX on friday. opting for pearl white.
i was offered 20+25K = 45k cash discount(25K is exchange bonus, but iam not exchanging the car with dealer)

I was told that at the time of sell 3Years/20K is the only AMC package that I can opt for, but I can change it later to a different duration. The service center will have the details. I will try to get further information on this. Ideally I would prefer to have AMC cover.
Did the dealer say anything to you regarding different tenures of AMC? Are you buying from Concorde ?

Clutch very light( better than my Indica vista Qjet). I did a small test drive of 2 Km. dealer was ready for a long test drive, but i did not opt for i already had long test drive thrice on the old aria.

I did not enquire about AMC as iam not interested in it. Offer is from Prerana motors.
Concorde guy has talked about AMC long back, i do not remember it fully.
I do not intend to opt for AMC till all the 5 free services are complete(45K)

Even if you are not interested in AMC,Give a look at what benefits it has.

You must be knowing wear and tear parts are not covered under warranty.

The GOLD AMC(3yrs or 40k km) is pure VFM and at a throw away price of 19k which covers wear and tear parts(cluth assembly, brake pads etc) and two oil change 15k and 30k km.This GOLD AMC you won't be able to buy after 10k km running.

General calculation of 3rd service & 4th service bill -
15k km & 30k km bill will come around 8k i.e. 8000+8000=16,000rs.(from 19k which you pay 16k is recovered here itself)

If you calculate the maintainance till 50k km of AMC vs Non AMC
The AMC package will be cheaper(and the trick here is to buy Gold AMC at 9k km on odo,it will serve you till 49k km)

Imagine if someone goes to long trip such as shimla or manali from chennai or bangalore and he faces a cluth/brake problem or wheel alignment there. With AMC he did not need to spend a single penny,he can get that replace/repair their and come out without paying any cost.[glasses]

Thanks for information. Anyway i will enquire about once again. But i still feel it is not required. As per sales adviser, New Aria comes with 70K clutch warranty, 2 lakh Km timing belt warranty, subject to all services are done at TASS. i have done all my services for Indica vista with TASS only ( 90K run in 5.5 years). The TML engineer told me ARIA clutch will easily last 1 Lakh KM.

My Vista clutch lasted 82K. i had changed voluntarily as CRB is making noise

Almost all cars have warranty of 40K on brake pads and shocks

I fell , when we are paying the service cost in advance some discount should be there, not vice versa.

Any car will have more service costs once it crosses 50 K not before.

If so much Tata is offering, this car is VFM anyway.[clap]

But they are silent on marketing side i feel.I have still not seen any add in paper or tv.

This price reduction, will be interesting to see how tourist segment looks at Aria now.

Hi Abhijeet, this is really strange. I guess you should visit the concorde showroom once, or better call the Tata call center and lodge a complaint. 15 Days and not delivery date is not good.
