A friend of mine called me today morning to inform that his car, brand new Wagon R is broke and not moving. Seems the car stalled and didn't start back. When he called Maruti for assistance, they suggested that he might have ran out of fuel (he was in reserve). He filled petrol and still no luck. Seems, the car then started, but won't move.
He called up again for assistance and they seemed to have towed the car to the garage. He just heard that the Clutch Plates have burnt and he will have to spend about 6K for the same as it's not covered under warranty. When questioned about such a pre-mature wear out, they are blaming the driving may possibly the reason. That's not agreeable as he is not a beginner and had been driving for more than 12 years. Questions:
I feel something fishy here. Have advised him not to agree up on anything, but to fight back. Please share your views and suggestions.

Questions:
- Can the Clutch Burn Out so early, just in 3K?
- Though Clutch is a wear & tear part and not generally covered under Warranty, isn't it no way possible?
- What could be the reason for such early wear out?
