worst mileage in highway: loaded to the brim with 5 people and a lot of steel rims and with AC on is 11.5
best is 17.2 without AC.
always mentioned speeds between 80-110.

I feel that this car is worth for the deal at 3.90 lakhs considering i have shortlisted wagon r and brio during the selection process.
That's an awesome FE figure from a SUV. Congrats man.
Looking at the FE figures and no much expenditure towards maintenance, your decision towards Safari against Waggy / Brio seems more reasonable. Wishing the similar experience in future too.

Got the vechile back from servicing, the servicing was okay not upto the mark.

parts replaced:

1. engine oil- 2400
2. oil filter and diesel filter( 345/220)
3. EGR cleaning( 500)
timming belt.; 2900
Auto Tensioner Bearing: 3000
Idler Bearing: 2100

sedimenter and glow plug replacement was not needed as per the SA. the cleaning of interiors and washing was not done propely. there was hug lump of strain on the driver seat. seems like a paint. I could have done a better job of cleaning.

the head rest lcd glass has a minor crack and also the whole set up of the DVD player has changed. right door speakers are not working.

then i took a electrician to fix the player and speakers. the check engine( service) light is glowing now. they checked and said evrything is fine. will wait and see what happens

they advised me to keep speeds below 80 as the timming belt is now and also asked to do a oil change at 1500kms. is it needed?

ownership report at 150,000.

overall it was a happy ownership. safari being used as a business vechile for carrying load and personal vechile. it has not let us down in the middle of a trip. apart from a few niggles, nothing alarming or deal breaking. changed only timming belt and water pump still now.

postives:

great ride quality, good road presense
go anywhere attitude
relaible to the core

negatives:

brakes are a major let off. brakes are good for 80km speed. at triple digit speeds does not inspire confidence
not a agile handling vechile. hates corners. felt like an elepahnt trying to run in zig zig manner while cornering on twistes. needs a conservative driving style.

off late, the suspension has not been upto the mark, planning a work on full suspension overhaul.

stuck between the decision of buying a diesel tiago for family trips and bolero pick up for business or use the current vechile or a new safari?
