I never had such issue. I vote for Chrome for its speed and user friendly !! IE has lost its charm these days and Firefox is bit slow while loading anything !!
I never do updates of OS or browser, at times they spoil everything
Firefox for Windows it is reliable and better it loads the flash apps very well,
Firefox is the best since it has the most add-ons. Block images, flash block are the killer add-ons as to why I use Firefox.
* Only area IE or Chrome beats Firefox is in cold start.
* Only area Chrome beats Firefox is when a Tab crashes - rest of the tabs work in Chrome while I have to restart Firefox (of course I get back all the tabs after restart). For this Chrome consumes almost double the memory - I have 2 tabs in Chrome and it consumes 200MB, while I have 4 tabs in Firefox & it is just 85MB.
There are lot of browsers coming around, funniest part is that some of them are using old Mozilla's engine and Gecko. and with a new name and some additional features.
with cyber threats at large. we have to careful choosing the browser and browsing habits.
the safest method would be to use Linux. so that Malware / trojan / spyware attacks will be minimum or zero.
also in the browser (i use Firefox) i use a plugin called no-script. it basically disables all the scripts in the webpage
Advantages
1. speeds up browsing
2. nobody can collect personal data or anything using hidden scripts.
3. gives you total control
disadvantages
1. some website like e-shopping etc may require us to disable the plugin for full functionality
2. we may have to do little more work browsing the sites as nothing automatic will happen.
Ha Ha. Actually when i started this thread I wanted to the name of the browser. But it seems, in this search there are so many new browsers are comming up. for example rockbolt will be to good for social network freeks.
Mozilla Firefox is very good, provided you spice it with certain plugins and extensions and do some low-level mods. It is a great all-rounder.
But if you are willing to dig around a little more, adjust a little etc. then go for opera.
1. it has compression means lower traffic (if you don't have unlimited connection) called opera Turbo
2. parallel connections to improve downloads, and best usage of keep-alives so that your download (especially from rapidshare etc) is not broken
3. integrated torrent client
4. has mobile versions
