Hey neil... hw r u buddy?? Congrats on ur gto7001... wats d specs???
U do need hi-lo converters buddy...
Am also looking for some high power cables these days n finally decided to go for isi marked cables frm electric hardware store for my mono amp.. am buyin 4awg power cables fr my mono n 7awg cables fr solid 4... not using alpine anymore.... so rc cables are connected to hu speaker wires thru hi-lo converter... i bought chinese converters 400each as i wud be goin fr a double din soon... converters r very heavy n no point buyin expensiv converters... also buyin bull audio rc cables fr my setup... whicj wires r u using bro ?? Net not orking so replyn frm mobile... email me if u wanna ask further...
Cheers bro!!!!
hey bro i am fine.
thanks for the help.

got hi-low converter. it converts and amplifies low outputs into 50w preouts. there is same thing available from scosche too but it was costly , around 3k or more. i got mine for 2k. attached a photo below.

I confirm that if WIRING IS DONE PROPERLY , with the use of these converters , our stock HU is fully capable of handling monoamp and four channel amp.

my both amps are total 1300 rms now. Monoamp - 700 rms and four ch amp - 600 rms. there was no cutout or no blowing of the fuse nothing happened. Some dealers or fitting guys who are noobs will bluff you that your system wont take load and this and that. thats not true.

JBL GTO7001 is no doubt a very good monoamp. DBO works perfectly and let us set vast range of high and low frequency bass that is supposed to be played by subwoofer. 4 channel amp never going to able to do it.
and finally you will get more punch along with more clarity with bass then 4 ch amp.

Connected my friends DVC subwoofer to my monoamp , and by mistake i made 1 ohm load to amp [frustration] , within a minute the fuse blew.[cry] I had to purchase new fuse. Thank god amp is ok.

Last pic is how I connected wires in my monoamp to get 2 ohm load.
It's parallel connection. All + goes to + of sub and all - goes to - of sub.

i will upload trunk pics tomorrow.

I connected my stock front speakers with 4 ch amp too. rear is already with 4 ch amp and sub with monoamp

for speakers i have used scosche wire but it was cheaper.
for sub it's scosche energy series. I think it's same like this one- http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTta7RJYI8tNHyG7hV0efjvnoQyMNBfDGCZmcy2hEXkEDZUemQe

I did not noticed but the first converter that i used for my speakers is exactly same like the one you used. Just noticed it yesterday while opened HU again. I paid 400 rs too for it.

btw how did you connect wires in your amp. can you click photo like the last pic i posted above ?

Video after monoamp upgrade.

i dont know why but there is some audio lag in video. maybe youtube or my camera.

tomorrow i am giving my car to hyundai . my rear axle is bend. most probably manufacturing defect. and my all four tyre alignment is totally out.
so will click some trunk photos tomorrow.
getting proper space and fitting amps in trunk is the hardest thing.video i will make later.

HU has few locks from inside. will be opened from OUTER border of brown plastic. just have to pull it and remove it from that locks by applying pressure outwards.

cant see the image

how much worse are the marks on the dashboard when they open the center panel ? I got mine opened and there are visible marks along the faux wood trim.

All of you are telling that you have used hi lo convertor. But i replaced the speakers without hi lo convertor. As i have installed the hertz amps, it dont need hi lo convertor.
In future i am also planning for monoamp(Currently using sub on 2 channel amp) but my ICE fitter did not tell anything about hi lo convertor.

@simplykapur..

i will be available on this forum. if related to ICE upgrade i can help you little bit on this thread.
regarding other things , other people may help you better then me.

@torque
marks will be there only if a noob tried to open it first time. even i have few small marks because of those noobs. they usually think that the only black part will come out and they try to remove it but actually the whole thing along with that brown plastic comes out.

@sandy
i was always wondering about hi-level input.
it would be grateful if you post your wirings nearby amp so that we all can have idea about that.
and some photos or video

Hi All,

Can you guide me for the price of the subs and amplifier

My dad works in Abu Dabhi and he can get ICE Stuff for me from there.I checked the websites for the info. i am getting Focal Polyglass 33V1 Subwoofer - 800W (4 OHM SVC) for RS 11K or something.... and also i checked JBL 12 ich Peak: 1000 watts RMS: 250 watts for around Rs 5600 ...is this a good bargain... i have also checked few more ...i will list down in a bit... awaiting reply..

Took advice from Neil ... rather than making a new post within 15 min i am editing this one..

Now about the Amps.

1. Swiss Audio 640 watt 4 channel AMPLIFIER (CAR AUDIO)
4 Ohms @ 0.05% THD 60W x 4
4 Ohms Bridged 0.5% THD 160W x2
Maximum Output Power 640 Watts

Bargain around Rs 7k

2. Sound stream 4 channel, 300watts amp
for around Rs 6k...

nice stuff. focal is best.
you will need more power for your sub. maybe better 4 ch amp or monoamp.

these 4 ch amps are good enough for speakers. heard of sound stream being a good brand abroad. no idea about swiss.
dont buy DVC sub until you have 1 ohm stable monoamp.

@KunaL

how much did you pay for focal polyglass?
you were supposed to buy focal access series earlier?

buy scosche or stinger converter. mine is not good quality. and brand name is not written on it.
are you getting your rear palnk replaced. mine is vibrating crazily. going to put wooden plank soon.
