I agree with nitin. You should buy moto g. Prive difference is 2000rs on flipkart. And what you get is bigger screen + HD display + quad core. Rest of the specs are similar.
though i am always biased towards android  , still moto G is much better than lumia 525

+ve
screen size
latest android ( kitkat )
file manager
display
flash
front camera
bigger battery
option of 8gb vs 16gb
quad core

for me, flash + front camera is a must have in any phone.

Internet Explorer 11 on Windows Phone 8.1 - YouTube

A video of Internet Explorer 11 from the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 Blue surfaced online. It seems that things have changed a bit around here:

The stop/refresh button now fits inside the address bar.*
Password saving support has been added.*
There's a Reading View mode, which might be familiar to Safari users. It displays only the text content of websites for clutter-free reading.*The text size and viewing style of both Reading Mode and regular browsing mode can be configured between Bright, Light, Medium, and Dark.

Windows Phone 8.1 will be a free "spring update" for all WP8 users, including entry and mid-level handsets. It will deliver an enormous list of updates and changes. Among the highlights are dual-SIM support, compatibility with all of Qualcomm's 32-bit chipsets, and Cortana, the Windows Phone voice assistant that's both sexy and smart.*

Speaking of these updates, our own Michael H. has done an almost encyclopedic work of presenting everything we know about Windows Phone 8.1*in this article. Be sure to check it out for more information on what's in tow for Microsoft's mobile platform.

Windowsteca.net reports that WhatsApp for Windows Phone are getting new privacy features which are already in testing on Android.

Deduced from WhatsApp translation strings which are in testing, the text reveals that WhatsApp is planning to allow users to control who can see when they were last online on the network (helpful to avoid ex-partners) and also control who can see your profile information e.g. your profile picture. At present simply entering a phone number in your phone address book can give you access to the avatar and other information from other WhatsApp users, with obvious privacy implications.

The move may be to reassure users in the wake proposal by Facebook to purchase the network for $19 billion, and is a wise move for a company which is striving to reach a billion users over the next few years, of whom at least a small percentage will have nefarious intentions.

^^I just read a news about whatsapp as they are also going to introduce voice calls soon and it will be a big threat for the mobile companies
I hope you know already that Skype , viber , tango all do the same , and whatsapp is late to the party .

Anyway here is another news

WhatsApp bringing

Although the public version of WhatsApp has not received a new update since early January, the WhatsApp team is churning out new beta features, ensuring a massive update is on the horizon.

Today, version 380 of the private beta landed and it brings with it, once again, some fantastic new features. A member of the beta program has given us the following screenshots, though we’ve been able to independently confirm their authenticity.

Privacy control

One of the big new additions is something that is new to Android and iOS too, namely privacy control. Remember how you can always see when the last time someone was online with WhatsApp? Pretty soon, users will be able to control that via the privacy settings. From there, you will be able to control:

Last seen – Everyone, My Contacts or Nobody
Profile Photo – Everyone, My Contacts or Nobody
Status – Everyone, My Contacts or Nobody
Admittedly, that’s a very useful feature. What’s neat though, as mentioned above, as that’s a relatively new feature to iOS and Android too, meaning that Windows Phone is finally nearing parity with those platforms. In fact, by the time this release comes out, they may well very be matched.

Interestingly, it’s not a one way street though. If you disable your status, the app – as of now – also hides your contact’s status as well. So while you can protect your activity, you won’t be able to see someone else’s either. We’re guessing that because WhatsApp just enabled this, users will have to opt-in to have their status shown, with the default being ‘nobody’.

New background gallery

Background images were revealed the last time by us from the previous beta release. In today’s version, the WhatsApp team has added a ‘background gallery’ replete with six well designed wallpapers. That’s in addition to

Take a photo
Choose from Albums
Search Web
Delete
Background images do bring a little bit of life to the otherwise minimalist app, though users can still opt for the default black background should they choose.

Other forthcoming features already completed in the beta include Media Autodownload and Custom notification sounds.

Tom Warren teases ”It would be good if WP 8.1 had 3D gestures” and more | WMPoweruser

Tom Warren, Senior Verge Editor, claims to have seen Windows Phone 8.1, and has been teasing a variety of features over the last few weeks.

Today he posted the above enigmatic tweet, suggesting it “ would be good if Windows Phone 8.1 included 3D touch gestures and notification interaction when phone’s off.“

We have ourselves of course received information that WP 8.1 will enable touch-less voice commands like “Ok Google” on the Motorola X, which does not require touching the handset to activate. The addition of gestures, possibly via multiple proximity sensors, would also be a natural if rather gimmicky extension of this.

Of course there is nothing about Tom’s tease which promises that these features will be on the way, but they are also not impossible.

Tom Warren himself, has previously posted on The Verge that the rumoured Nokia Goldfinger will feature “3D Touch”, which is believed to be a gesture-based system which would allow users to scroll the web browser or move to the next music track merely by moving their hand above the screen, much like Airplay.

Microsoft Office suite didn’t add any completely new app in the past few years. Speaking to GeekWire, *John Case, a Microsoft Office corporate vice president for marketing hinted about the next generation app experiences that is coming soon from the Office team. He highlighted the fact that the OneNote app which was added as a completely new app to Office suite in 2003 is now being used by millions of people.

“We’ll do more things like that, that will be about different form factors and different applications,” he said. “The Office suite has been very consistent. We haven’t had new apps in a long time. We’ll have some new app investments coming. New ways of creating content, new ways of storing and organizing content.”

“As much we love Word, Excel and PowerPoint, there’s another generation of app experiences we want to enable. Some of it will feel like big stuff, and some will feel like small stuff. We want to let you create content in different ways that we think will be more personal for you.”

Last year, there*were leaks about a new app that will be part of Office suite codenamed Moorea which combines text, pictures, videos and other elements in single canvas. The*app is clearly optimized for tablets, with clear Metro styling and large, finger friendly targets, and the app appeared to be for collecting notes and information in a rearrangable* grid. Another cool thing is that the* app allows these notes to be exported as a HTML file which can then be viewed in any web browser. Even during the annual company meeting last year, Microsoft demoed the latest version of this app to its employees. I guess, we will hear more about this in the coming months.

a bit old news, but felt to share it because the content was funny.
Bill Gates’s first day at work in the newly created role of technology adviser got off to a rocky start yesterday as the Microsoft founder struggled for hours to install the Windows 8.1 upgrade.

The installation hit a snag early on, sources said, when Mr. Gates repeatedly received an error message informing him that his PC ran into a problem that it could not handle and needed to restart.

After failing to install the upgrade by lunchtime, Mr. Gates summoned the new Microsoft C.E.O. Satya Nadella, who attempted to help him with the installation, but with no success.

While the two men worked behind closed doors, one source described the situation as “tense.”

“Bill is usually a pretty calm guy, so it was weird to hear some of that language coming out of his mouth,” the source said.

A Microsoft spokesman said only that Mr. Gates’s first day in his new job had been “a learning experience” and that, for the immediate future, he would go back to running Windows 7.
