So finally the much awaited 41MP[clap] sensor Lumia 1020 has been announced in New York,priced at $299 on contract in the US,available in three colours-white,yellow and black.Basically the phone shares its hardware configuration with its younger sibling the Lumia 920 and more recently the Lumia 925.No word on India launch and pricing yet.[frustration]

We've been hearing plenty about the Lumia 1020 in the lead up to this event, and now, after a proper on-stage unveiling, we've finally got our hands on one. Granted, it's not the eye-popping yellow version Elop showed off on-stage (we got to play with the white and black versions), but it'll do nicely. As expected, the hardware's a beauty on this thing. There's that slick unibody design we've come to expect from recent Lumia devices, and in spite of amped up optics, the company hasn't really done too much to sacrifice weight and profile. On the front is an eye-catching 4.5-inch AMOLED PureMotion HD+ display 1,280 x 768 pixel display, which nicely compliments Windows 8's bright UI. Nokia's also promised that the Gorilla Glass 3 display works well with gloves and is still readable in sunlight, but we'll have to get back to you on both of those.

I never used any nokia before before 2012 [:)]. I choose nokia over htc because nokia gives you so much more for the money you pay when it comes to windows phone .

Kindly see full resolution pics clicked by 1020 here , I have yet to see any phone on the market which can do such stuff I mean its as good as a dslr now .

My story is different. I have purchased my first Nokia in 2001 a black one with external antenna. Later changed to 3310>>3315>>2300>>3230>>N73>>E6 along with Asha 202 as secondary >> Lumia 820 Now.
I spent lot of time before purchasing L820. I was almost made up for Xperia SP and went to Sangeetha mobiles to purchase it. At store, something pulled me back from Xperia and went to Nokia priority to purchase L820.
I never experienced any mishaps with Nokia. In between I have used one Micromax as a secondary phone along with N73. Resolution of micromax was pathetic. Absolutely no visibility (readability) in sunlight.

Wow , you have been a dedicated nokia user . Before nokia lumia I used multiple phones from Panasonic , sony , Motorola , lg , samsung , but never used any nokia . I just dint like then os .
Then bought the htc trophy ( windows phone ) and then lumia 800 now lumia 720 and maybe a 1020 or the 925 lets see .

two days back my parents are back from Nepal Tour. Dad took some pics from Lumia 520 and should pics have came out really good... will share those here soon.
