Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

With your budget I suggest a L 720 or L 820[:)]
I agree, both a within Visran's budget.

But since camera is a priority, plus since he is moving from andriod to WP8, i would suggest for L820, bcoz of 1GB ram, 8.7MP primary cam,1.5GHz processor, video rec of 1080p@30fps, and a removable battery.

Visran, you can check the link as well for a head on comparison. [:)]

@Visran

I will agree with @Breeze here, yes L820 may be more good for you with that configuration. I reiterate here camera quality is excellent for pics and videos are awesome, I will show you few videos when I am there in Bangalore. HD content play quite clear. I watch a movie with excellent sound clarity

I have never felt short of internal memory it is quite sufficient for me and never felt short of a SD card, though it has a facility. This is mainly because I keep deleting unwanted files and applications regularly

Regarding the office tools, I normally use the word, excel, powerpoint they work quite well and I also use it quickly to show some presentation to client on the phone and it works too smooth and without any lag. PDF reader(free app installed) is also good and never stalls or hangs

Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

Visran, list your needs on a priority basis before selecting. Just to add on to RK's points -

> If you are a heavy apps & games freak WP will put you off. Windows has @1.5L apps as against @6L apps for Androids. But almost all basic apps are present

> If you want a fluidic, smooth and lag free performance, then WP will surely serve the purpose

> Tile concept of WPs are fresh to use and over all layout and performance of the phone gives a premium feel

> As usual, Nokia's build quality is pretty good and the phone sits firmly in your hand

> Email sync is pretty fast and using Emails, Office etc are pretty smooth

> Live tile updates are something new to experience.

> Nokia's hardware quality is above par compared to the competition

At the end of the day, WP does its basic duties lag free and its a no non-sense phone (as I had stated earlier in my review) Its definitely for people who are willing to try out something new apart from Androids.

@Visran

Yes I think it has outlook feature in office 365.

Oh I forgot to tell you the offiline Nokia maps with voice assistance, they are really good and you do not need data connection for the same. Extra apps I loaded are

1.Indianrail
2.Hyderabad MMTS
3.Battery
4.easy connect(which display bluetooth,wifi,location,data connection,aeroplane mode) quickly
5.PDF reader
6.whats up

I liked L820 very much but could not buy it due to budget constraints. I like its perfect rectangular shape.

You could also check out this review. I'm impressed [:D] with the way they have done the write-up. Felt better than GSM arena's review (which has majority of copy paste for all WP8 review [roll])

Apps
1) true caller
2) Skype
3)viber
4)what's app
5) Facebook
6)metro tube
7) complete Microsoft office .
And all the apps which come with nokia .

You get nokia music free ,download and save as many tracks as you want for free .
Beside that go personally and check the 820 and 720 in real and decide .
I have a 800 with me but soon might change that for a 720.

Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

Earlier this month, Nokia launched an alpha version of the Lumia Storage Check, an app that lets users check how much of one’s phone memory is in use and also allows them to manage it. The Finnish company has now released the beta version of the app, which gets new features and gives users more control over their phone’s memory.
