Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

after using the phone when the battery cools down, a normal spike is normal. Used to happen in my xperia arc as well as several other models.

Last night i used 620, i mostly used shazam which requises mobile data. To my surprise battery stayed at 100 % even after using it for 40 minutes.

This too sometimes happened with my arc.

Anyways 2 of my friends have 620 and 1 has 820 [:)] all moved from bb.

@SB, no it was not charged in between but, I connected to laptop to transfer some pics, so it might be showing that there

@Sankar, Yes, it seems some thing was there in the update for battery back up as these days the back up looks to be more with same kind of usage like earlier

@CF, Ah, that was a nice pic buddy, I will try for such pic soon

Good to hear that[clap]. Do keep the thread posted when you find changes in your phone after the update was installed.

Yes, Sankar, I will do that, and also I could notice that its touch sensitivity increased after the update, as the screen moves with a gentle touch[:)]

Are you sure on that or is it just the feeling that things have generally improved after the update? Because touch sensitivity depends almost on Hardware and not on software(My guess [;)]) So will a software update change sensitivity settings in a phone?

A smartphone basically works like a PC. It needs drivers for Display, Graphics, Sound reception and transmission, Signal processing, Battery etc to run along with the phone's hardware to work. That's the reason why an update from manufacturer takes a long time as they need to re-develop the drivers for new OS and test the drivers extensively(Speaking about Android update from Ice cream Sandwich 4.0 to Jelly Bean 4.1). So unless their is an significant update to the drivers then only their will be changes to core stuff of a smartphone. If their were any fault with drivers then you might already know like issues with Battery backup (Icecream Sandwich had issues with low battery backup that was rectified bu Google's update) or low signal reception.

Sankar

Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

Recently, when father was using the iPad, he noticed that the charge was not decreasing from 100%. I told him that it may be because he didnt use it. But he said he used before. Then I told thats the speciality of Ipad. It has the best battery life. Next day, it was still at 100%. Thats not possible. So I restarted and it was at 37%!! [lol]
But in fatc, it has the biggest battery (11xxx mAh) and provides good battery life too.

Raja, try your hands on L720. I guess its already released in the West.

Here, its up for pre-oreder on Filpkart for 18999/-. Guess, only by end of this month, it would be on markets. [sleep]

GSM arena has reviewed L720 as well. [clap]

@Visran

Yes, it will disappoint you if you are a Android freak, but in practical terms it is just about more and more applications and customer screens and other things.

I never felt those are shortfalls if I think in terms of business needs and I found following things are good with Lumia serious phones. It may take little time for you to get adjusted to the new OS and some buttons too.

-Unique look
-clear black screen
-Good processor speed
-excellent touch screen experience
-excellent camera quality
-good battery backup
-all useful applications
-office tools are good
-browser is fast

With your budget I suggest a L 720 or L 820[:)]
