MGP will cost around 800+ including labour charges.
It is not necessary to buy MGP from the dealer itself,Maruti has started MGP outlets,if you know to install you can save the labour charges.

Yes you can if they at all keep these filters Usually you won't find .... even I tried in the whole of Noida area and there are two MGP outlets but they did not have it .... when I asked for the cost they told me it would be around 500+ Rs.
Actually you need to be smart at to what you want to do from Maruti Service centres like I never go for wheel alignment or wheel balancing from Maruti Dealers I always get it done from outside (Good Year or Michilin Shops) as it is a lot cheaper . but then for the normal service I always get it done from Maruti ...after all it is an individual person to judge what he want's to do from an authorize service centre

Buddy, down here we have many outlets and these are opened by maruti to help us with the MGP as the dealers are not authorized to sell the spares,and it is an effort on maruti to ensure all maruti vehicles run on MGP though it is not possible.
Good local workshops only prefer MGP (on some specific spares) as they are concerned of their goodwill, on repeated efforts of these kind of people resulted in these outlets,
And for your information there is an order book placed at all MGP outlets where you can place order on any maruti spare and it will be delivered in a very short period of time as the spares are in prodution.
And as you said its ones will to use Genuine spare or the seconds.
On alignment and balancing what you are doing is apt,as the dealers wont spend time on aligning and balancing(even though they are charging) they will rotate for sure,it is because they have a target on service a day and the target is a bit high.
