Thanks For sharing the pictures. But am not able to undestand the angle (view) of picture taken. I mean is this from bottom side (camera facing sky) or from front side (you sitting in front of glove box).

[embarass]
In Swift Dzire it is slightly above the Glove Box. It is easily accessible and visible once you open the Glove Box.

Thanks
Sunil

I checked my ertiga yesterday, it does not come with an AC filter though a provision is provided.
I wonder why Suzuki do not provide an AC filter in their cars as the filter just costs 300k , and surprisingly it is available in MGP.

Cost Cutting my dear. Cost Cutting.

None of the Maruti Cars have this irrespective of the variant you have bought .

I think this would also to an extent stop rats from entering into the AC duct and then subsequenty to the car cabin.

Noway rats won't enter through this way, this place is not the AC duct. AC duct is where we open to allow fresh air to come in to the cabin that place is big enough for a rat to get in.

Once the rat is inside the cabin it can enter anywhere. The filter slit is covered and so there is no chance of rat entering through there. you may check it out.
The Ac duct is the only place where there is a chance of rat to get in if you have left it open or it would have got in when you opened the doors for cleaning as we leave it open till the cleaning is done.
That's my belief.

Guys for even reaching the duct you have to dismantle the whole dash board and i don't think it is possible to close and open the duct easily if you do any alteration on it.
It is better you retain it to the close position after opening it.
Usually we open the duct on long drives to inhale fresh air into the cabin as the oxygen level in the cabin decreases.

Thanks a lot Sunil for your quick response. Will surely get this done at next service dues in few days.
Hi Libran,

I would suggest that you go to the Sector 28 Car market and get it from there. The filter is nothing but Cellulose paper structured in the form of Fins and glued together in a square Cardboard. The service centre will unnecessarily charge you too much for the simple filter.

When I bought the filter I was shown two filters one for Dzire and the other for Swift .... both were exactly of the same size and material however the Filter for the Swift was of Rs 300 and that of Dzire was for Rs 400. I took the one which was for Swift and saved Rs 100 and it was a perfect fit.

After seeing what the filter is I believe that actually it should not even cost 100 Rs.

I am actually looking for a Cellulose Air Filter Paper or a Foam based Filter(It is washable) and next time will do it as DIY project. No point in paying 300 to 400 Rs for a simple thing like this

Thanks
Sunil
