Re: A Tale of Two Tatas: Nano LX and Manza Aqua QJD

Some times the lights seem to be in adequate for Manza, specially facing oncoming traffic. Not sure bulbs need upgrade or battery has gone weak (Battery now almost 22 months old from manufacturing date).

On the Other hand did some upgrades in Nano LX -

1. Horns changed (much needed)- Roots Smart tone - Rs 550
2. Steering Cover - Rs 200
3. 12V Socket - Rs 250

(All prices inclusive installation).

Next is looking for Audio/ICE set up.

I am thinking of Pioneer/Sony/Xenos 1 DIN HU and Speakers from Pioneer/Sony/JBL.

One question to all -

How do we install speakers on the door (maybe with spacers)?
Is it possible to fit 6" or 4" speakers both on front and rear door. This is because I dont want to block minimal boot space which is available.

Guys please advise.

Re: A Tale of Two Tatas: Nano LX and Manza Aqua QJD

I am running the below set up in my nano LX :

HU : Pio DEH 1590 UB.
Speakers : JBL GT6-S : 6 inchers installed at front doors with spacers and stuff.

Tweeters : Pioneer : placed below the dash.

This set up can handle only a medium level bass and if it exceeds, the door pads vibrates like hell and defeats the purpose of having a nice pair of JBLs. So it is advisible to have 4 inchers at doors and 6 inchers at rear.

Thanks for the input, if possible can you post some pictures of the set up. I was thinking of two speakers each on front and rear doors. Maybe I will not go for JBL then and look for cheaper brands.

I will post pics from my Nano soon. Sorry for the delay. Too swamped with some useless work, and have not been using the Nano for the past few days.

I am not clear with in which car are you looking for ICE. I hope you are thinking in NANO.

So if you are thinking for heavy bass system in NANO, then it may not the option in this case.
As a heavy bass speaker will require a bigger[depth] pocket to give its effect. Also the speaker clamping should be quite rigid or solid built or must be strong enough to hold the vibrations.

According to me a medium bass speaker will only be the intelligent choice for door speakers.
You can use rear parcel tray for speaker fitment, although I wouldn't suggest to fit heavy bass one's here too, coz it will take more space and you will have compromise on boot.

One more reason for NANO should not be fitted with heavy bass speaker is due to its thin body structure and small cabin, which reverberate the sound in it.

Some suggestion: [The below items I have seen in Reliance Mart, Pune. Below one[6690] was fitted in someone's Nano Tx, while I was checking out other items. Along with Pioneer Speaker.]

I doubt if you can fix speakers on the rear door pads. Better get wooden rear parcel tray and put 6x9 speakers. That will be nice sound. For front you can get 4 inches and see that the RMS rating and dB of both the speakers are same. Else you will feel higher sound at rear and less at front.

Yes you can absolutely fit on the doors of your car, added with spacers.
And rightly use the minimum space available on the boot area.

the second pic is from my car. i didnt use any spacers to fix it. in front it is ok. but rear, the window glass will sit on the speaker magnet if you fix there. you can use spacers. but see that the door pads are not falling due to the weight!

Forgot to update renewed Nano insurance from L&T general insurance for Rs 4.5K. They gave lowest quote for highest IDV and has cashless tie up with major TASS.

Also Manza had first flat tyre in 25K kms, repaired from nearby shop for Rs 120/-
