Ram Sir,

In the movie Chennai Express, a long bridge over the sea is shown as the route to Rameshwaram. Is that the actual route?? [confused]
I am not seen the movie.

But the bridge over the sea to Rameswaram is Panpam Bridge, and that is the only route to Rameswaram by road.

Thank you.

Yes, the trip to Danushkodi was really great. Did you visit the ruined town of Danushkodi? If you know the history of it you will find it more interesting.

We will surely meet when I come to Chennai next.

Had a visit to Dhanushkodi yesterday.

Really a nice place to visit,

but the whole town was ruined out that made me scary.

Will share my experience once I returned from the trip.

That's great Octy_Vin.

Did you go there in your Octy? Yes, there are still some survivors there who narrate the tragic story. If you have, post his photos.

Wow what a TL, Really Inspiring.[clap]

Long back we had a trip to Rameswaram but weren't aware about this ghost town, so really missed it.

Now planning a trip to guruvayoor-trivandram-kanyakumari-rameswaram-and finally to Danushkodi. Will rely on you for the road details once I confirm the plan.[:D]

You can follow the same route from Kanyakumari. And the roads are very good. Do update once you decide.

Dear Ram,

Wonderful. What a great travelogue loaded with excellant snaps.

I had observed that the average gap between the snaps in the posts are less than 5 minutes.

I liked the way you had captured the snaps presented here for the enitre travelogue.

Kiran

fantastic traveling, Ramji been to Rameswaram when i was a kid. your blog has inspired me to take a road trip to the ghost town with my family .
i have been to coimbatore couple of times in our family car would like to share some experiences with you.
1. being from mangalore karnataka and when we are in tamil nadu are harressed a lot from the local traffic ,people like when we stop to ask for directions from behind they simply honk even though there is plenty of space to pass. has happened many times .
2. when in highways frequent honkings from the local tn reg car as they pass they simply stare at you as if he is going to eat me.
one question would like to ask why this attitude they find in different state car .
usually i ignore as most time with my family driving. but some times it unbearable .
sir want to ask you as you are using mmi ,how accurate is it .do we need internet connection or is it built in road directions . would like to instal this in my dads car .

Such attitude is there in every state especially in cities. My car is a TN registered one and I face the same in Bangalore too. Just ignore them.

MMI is very precise and accurate. And I am fully depending on it during my travel. You don't need internet connection, it is directly linked to the satellites.

sir can you tell me which is the better route to pollachi from palghat .as i use bye pass coimbatore route ,take the right turn to pollachi road, via para
From Palakkad to Pollachi the short route is via Kozhyjampara, on Coimbatore NH, after chandranagar take right to Pollachi
