@bhvm, just read your full thread today and, man!!! really i liked it.
1 Month ago, when i sold my Alto Lx, i was also finding a used car in market.
I almost finalised on a Safari 2.2 Vtt DiCor, but all my nearby trusted mechanics scared me by saying that this one beast requires too much on maintenance.
Hence, bought a Tata Manza QJet instead of Safari. But anyways would ever like to own a Safari [Dicor, not Strome].
Liked your review.

I am really glad you liked it. You read it full? Man that might've taken some serious concentration!

The reason FNGs scare you from Safari's (Or any modern SUV) is because they don't have to know-how to repair them. It needs a laptop, or atleast an OBD scan to get started. Maintenance is not that bad. Regular Maintenance of Safari costs half of that of my XUV. Actually, Maintainance of Manza vs Safari may not be really that different. Of course there are things like bigger tyres, More fuel consumption etc which is more expensive.

And Buddy if you want to buy a Safari, Now is the right time.

I too wanted to buy a Safari.
But as i have just bught my Manza 1 month ago :) i really can't do anything but wait for a couple of year to upgrade to this Beast.
And really my next car would be a Safari.
Happy Miles on your Beast!!

What better way to spend a lazy Sunday morning than to leave the tarmac and step on the dirt.

Observations-
1. Felt like a walk in the park. I am really doing injustice to Dicor 4x4 by not going on harder tracks.
2. Engaged 4L just for fun. Worked flawlessly with no errors. Most of the track was done in 2nd low. The track was actually doable even in 4x2 with some momentum.
3. Beast felt comfortable. Not much bouncing even on rocks and uneven sections. The small incline actually felt like a speedbreaker and nothing more!

Can you spot the beast?

Location- Ulhas river, Outskirts of Kalyan.
P.s- Please excuse the camera settings. My wife had to spot as well as record. She forgot to set the EV, causing blown images.

You went for nice outing with your 'Friendly beast'.

A few facts to make myself (or any DICOR 4x4 owner) Proud-
Safari DiCOR Off-Road Features:
  • Shift-on-the-Move 4×4 Engagement
  • 8.07-Inches of Ground Clearance
  • 31° Approach and Departure Angles
  • 30° Ramp Break Over Angle
  • 45° Climb Gradient (100% Gradablity !!)
  • 11.8-Inch Water Wading Depth
  • Limited Slip Differential

Approach, Departure Values are even better than so called Legendary Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, and Ford Everest (Endevour) As well as Dodge RAM wagon!
Really makes me proud. Also, The off road specific Values in Storme are far inferior to these. Especially the departure & ramp breakover angles.

Nice facts for our knowledge about this under-rated G-I-A-N-T.
Certainly you made a nice decision to go for a Safari than any other wanna-be SUV.
IMHO, only Safari Dicor and Scorpio (Old One) are True SUV's.

Buddy, your giant beast is looking sooo better than at the time you bought it.[clap][cheers]
Nice and well planned mods by you on your car. I Really love them and whenever i buy my giant would like you to do all the paint and rims stuff!! [evil]
On the first look i was not liking the blue color of side claddings, but you ask now!!
In love with them, blue color goes nice with white bas color bro.
Keep it up and if you would keep the car for more than 4-5 years then add some winch and light covers type of things and convert this Gentle Beast into Evil Beast. [evil]
