@bhvm, just read your full thread today and, man!!! really i liked it.
1 Month ago, when i sold my Alto Lx, i was also finding a used car in market.
I almost finalised on a Safari 2.2 Vtt DiCor, but all my nearby trusted mechanics scared me by saying that this one beast requires too much on maintenance.
Hence, bought a Tata Manza QJet instead of Safari. But anyways would ever like to own a Safari [Dicor, not Strome].

The reason FNGs scare you from Safari's (Or any modern SUV) is because they don't have to know-how to repair them. It needs a laptop, or atleast an OBD scan to get started. Maintenance is not that bad. Regular Maintenance of Safari costs half of that of my XUV. Actually, Maintainance of Manza vs Safari may not be really that different. Of course there are things like bigger tyres, More fuel consumption etc which is more expensive.
And Buddy if you want to buy a Safari, Now is the right time.
