Route- Trivandrum to nagarcovil,Nagarcovil to Chennai via national highway
Car used- Renault Scala Diesel

It was damn tiresome, and that's when I decided not to go on long drive without second driver, unless it is needed.

You didn't take breaks, i took breaks at tirunelveli and after Trichy to have breakfast and lunch,had occasional snacks in between also within the car .

It took exactly 12 hours to reach my uncle's place at chennai .

Time taken - 19 Hours (Including 5:20 hours halt at Lucknow)
Route - Meerut - Lucknow - Gurgaon
Car used - Toyota corolla D-4D
Average Speed - 68.08 kph (For 13:40 hours of driving time)
Approx Fuel Consumption - Around 50-55 liters (Nearly one tankful)
Approx FE received - 17.7 kpl (Taking average 52.5 liters of fuel consumed)


Distance - Around 1070 kilometers
Time taken - Around 16:30 hours (11 pm to 5:30 pm next day, only 4 breaks of 20-30 minutes each taken)
Route - Indore - Jhansi - Meerut
Car used - Toyota Innova D-4D
Average Speed - 72.54 kph (For 14:45 hours of driving time)
Approx Fuel Consumption - Around 80 liters (More than 1.5 full tanks as I had to refuel again after Gwalior en route to Agra)
Approx FE received - Around 13.3 kpl (This is with a heavy foot)

Time taken - 8 hours (30 mins stop for Breakfast, Bio breaks)

Recently had to make a TVM-Kochi-TVM drive on a single day

Distance - 449kms (both ways)
Time taken - Total 12 hours drive for 2 way journey (30 mins stop for Lunch, 30 mins for Dinner)
Route - TVM-Kochi-TVM NH-47 via Alleppey
Car used - Tata Zest Diesel
Mileage - 20.4

It took exactly 12 hours to reach my uncle's place at chennai .

We just took break for just 15min at KOVILPATTI for breakfast. We were cruising at a avg speed of 110 KMPH throughout which was set in the cruise control. Since it was day time, we did not face any rush in the toll. We had some snacks for lunch. We made it in 10 hours with ease.

Mileage was 19.5 in tank full method.

That is great mileage from the Zest! What was your cruising speed on an average? Was the car fully loaded and how was the total experience? Including driving comfort and overall passenger comfort throughout the journey?

Hi Hari, Thanks! I had already shared the driving experience in my ownership thread. Anyways, 3 people on board and i was totally satisfied with the ride. My mother was sitting at the back seat and she had no issues at all and was very much happy with the ride. The cruising speed was 70km/hr and the top speed achieved was 90km/hr.

I was happy with the mileage (please remember its diesel) because had to encounter lots of potholes/broken roads and a huge traffic jam @Alleppey during both journeys (30min & 45mins respectively)
