Yesterday, vroom saw lots of Puntos, Lineas and even Palios in Bangalore. In 2-3 hrs we could see almost all colors available in Punto.

Year end car sale: Up to Rs 1.5 lakh off



Car companies are doling out huge discounts in the range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh to keep the momentum going in an upbeat market and buyers aren't complaining. Leading car companies like Maruti, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Ford and General Motors along with the dealers and financiers have stepped up promotions, incentives, loyalty bonuses, cash rebates and other deals this month to clear 2009 inventory. While some manufacturers have announced, others are finalising schemes to lure those customers who are postponing purchases to the new year, owing to the model year change.

Auto sales, which account for nearly a quarter of overall retail sales, have swung widely in recent months with incentives or discounts being higher on slow er moving models. The country’s largest car maker is offering discounts in the range of Rs 16,000 to Rs 30,000 for the A Star, Alto, Wagon R and Omni. However, fast moving models like the Swift, Dzire, SX4 and Zen Estilo have no discounts considering these cars still have a waiting period. In the case of Ford, the Fiesta model has a discount in the range of Rs 50-60,000 while the Endeavour SUV has no discount.

Punto is doing well. Lineas and Puntos can be easily spotted at every traffic signal in nagpur too.
