Xiaomi has unveiled the Electric Scooter 5 Pro. The model has arrived on the brand’s global website, indicating that this model will be sold in countries worldwide. It appeared alongside the standard Electric Scooter 5 and the Electric Scooter Elite, all of which leaked earlier this month.
Like the Electric Scooter 5, the e-scooter has a top speed of 25 kph (~16 kph) and three speed modes, including a walking mode. However, it has a slightly more powerful rear-wheel motor, with 1,000W rather than 700W peak power, meaning it can tackle steeper inclines of up to 22%. Plus, it is said to feature a Traction Control System (TCS) to enhance stability; no torque estimates have been provided.
This scooter is designed to handle different road conditions comfortably. It has dual-spring shock absorbers in the front and a single spring at the rear to reduce the impact from uneven surfaces. The wide, 10-inch tubeless tires provide good grip and stability, making rides smoother.
A 477Wh lithium battery powers the scooter for up to 60 km on a single charge. Xiaomi’s intelligent battery management system adds safety features to protect against issues like short circuits, overcharging, and overheating. The scooter also uses a kinetic energy recovery system, which helps increase the battery’s range by converting motion into extra power.
The pricing and release date of the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Pro has yet to be officially revealed. The earlier leak suggested that the model would retail for €599. However, a recent leak suggests that it will launch in France at €504.99.
