hey anmol i will also suggest you Linea. i dont know about its maintenance cost but it is most VFM buy...wait for a month and more powerful 1.6 is coming out. or for full peace of mind and less features for more price go for SX4! but atleast kick out aveo, fiesta, dzire, manza, accent from list.
So what have you decided buddy?? Including Linea T-Jet , Etios sedan in your list??
Well why are still considering Aveo in your list? You are going to have your car for atleast 10 years and Aveo is already looking dated. The Aveo is not a good seller and so GM may phase it out also in a few years or maybe it will get a new engine and a facelift also , so better avoid Aveo!
And your major driving is going to be in the city , so why do you want to leave out Linea saying its underpowered?? IMO consider this also in your list!
And City and the SX4 were just face lifted so why do call them as 2-3 years old already!
My suggestions: Linea , SX4 and then finally the City as it costs more and lacks few basic features!
And if you plan to wait for sometime consider Etios sedan and Linea T-Jet! VW sedan Vento will mostly exceed your budget or maybe only the base model without some of the basic features will fit in your budget! If brand value matters most for you then consider VW Vento too!

maruti sx4 - 685000 lac - 740000 lac 105bhp
honda city 813000 lac - 877000 lac 118 bhp
swift dzire 482000 lac - 523000 lac 85bhp
fiat linea 634000 lac - 692000 lac 90bhp
now i have ruled out chevy aveo and hyundai i20 as well.
when i told my dad about i20 he said that it is expensive and since i already have wagonr no need to buy a hatch again.
so now there are 4 cars, i will be test driving all four this weekend.

OK, its not dated but was never a hit. I have heard from lot of people and I too agree that the older Honda city had better looks.You should rule out the dZire as well, which does not stands in this league or segment. Let the decision remain between Maruti Suzuki SX4, Fiat Linea and Honda City.
That's ok. Personally, I've liked both the models, previous and latest but it is needless to say that ANHC is far more futuristic.
Why are you considering only the looks factor? Both the cars have received more or less cosemetic changes with time. Especially speaking about SX4 which you call "2-3 Years old already and has become dated", This doesn't mean one would stop buying the model just because it is 2-3 years old, rather this proves the reliability of car and it's history in market which is very clear in front of us. I'd say if Anmol wants to keep car for another 10 Years, Go for the one which has already proved itself in market, that is Maruti SX4 instead of new entrants who's future is still in question. No?

so i have booked a test drive for linea tomorrow morning, would like to TD SX4 as well if found some time.
and yes dzire is also out of my list, have to choose aout of three i.e linea, sx4, city.
