I infact liked the type 1 Omni. It is a fun vehicle to drive in rush hour traffic and in cities. Its tight turning circle is a great bonus too and it is quite peppy too for a van.

@jalex and zinam, what did you guys liked in old omni over new one. ofcourse i hope except the looks. it was anyways a boxy van which never was a perfect vehicle for family unlike eeco/versa. old omni looked like a car with specs. lol.

@peter, SS80 was made by spani so how come was it a predecessor of maruti 800?

The SS80 was the internal code for the earlier (boxiest) version of the M800.
I think Peter was referring to that.
