What's The Meaning Of Variant Names (LX, VX etc)?

I have Alto Lx (not Lxi) but it has Power Steering.

how can that be.I have Alto LXi.

May be you are lucky enough.When you bought the car,did you paid for LXi price or LX??I mean power steering or non power steering??[thinking]

As far as my understanding goes, ever since the LX (in the Alto) had a Power Steering option, it had an "i" attached to the tail.
Maybe it dropped off?

I don't how it is but Power Steering is there in Alto Lx (4 years old model). There is no power window though.

Check the regstration papers of your car and verify whether your car is LX or LXi. Because LX never came with a power steering.

I think its the mot peculiar case i have ever seen. But do check your papers to confirm about your model.

Apologies guys, its my mistake. Yes i have Lxi model. Somehow in my mind, it was set as Lx. I just called home to verify, and you all were right, its Lxi.

Update! The full form of S-Class (in reference to Merc) is Sonderklasse in German which translates into Special Class. As for the others:

- E: Einspritzung (Fuel Injection)
- SL: Sport Leicht (Sport Light)
- CL: Comforf Leicht (Comfort Light)
- SLK: Sporlich, Leicht und Kurz (Sporty, Light & Short)
