Frankly speaking, it really annoys me a lot. We wait for several minutes waiting in a long queue & suddenly a car comes and tries to get in front of us. My dad also does the same at rare times. Coz here, all roads are single lane. So under a queue, even the private buses comes from far back & blocks the road ahead.
But, I don't think honking is a good idea especially cos you are creating more noise pollution & disturbing others. I don't mind flashing him up though to at least remind him of what he is doing! We never know what kind of emergency he is in! We might do the same thing in emergency situations.

Yeah Mr.Starlight it really gets irritating near Sion flyover,at peak traffic times.i try and avoid that route by using Wadala bus terminal road, bit congested, but works sometimes.Other wise, near Sion Flyover ,i keep my vehicle little outwards, that is a bit left the front car,so no one tries to push me in,or cut the lane. And nothing is lost if 1-2 cars goes ahead of you;traffic policemens are present almost 60% of times,i have seen them.

It happens at many places. If you start educating, you end up in trouble.
Morning, i was coming to my office in my two wheeler. At one signal, one bike fellow was honking as soon as the signal turned Green. I told to that old man with a smile 'anna (bro), why honking unnecessarily' and moved off. He came near to me on next signal and told me furiously 'Saar, i was informing the car that someone is passing thru his left'. Here everyone know that people overtake from left and right on one-way in Bangalore. He just wanted to justify his honking. I smiled and told him that left side overtaking is common and cant do much about it. "Why we honk and pollute the air. Sorry anna. Dont feel bad for me saying so". He said 'no problem' and moved on with a smile.

Hope he honk less next signal as i said 'sorry' for no reason. If i had shouted at him, the situation would have been different. The whole day, i would be thinking of that and spoiling my day just for a 'honk'. Sometimes, this work as the best to educate people.
