Side-Impact Protection System (SIPS)
It reduces the risk of injury in collision from the side. The heavy steel body beams with a lot of sensors monitors & minimises the damage to the occupants & spreads the impact to beams & rooms & not directly on the spot. Inflatable curtain at the sides enhance the safety of head, chest and hip of the passengers.
Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS)
It minimises the injury incase of rear impacts. When a high speeding vehicle hits you from behind, WHIPS jumps in to save you. This is Volvo's unique system which cradles the spine and neck in a controlled manner. This system is activated by a collision of sufficient force from behind.
Alcoguard
As the name suggests, Alcoguard gaurds you from driving the vehicle when you are drunk. Usually these vehicles will not always be driven by self, you may ask you driver to drive it.
This feature hops in & you ahve to blow the air into the wireless units which inturn communicates with the electronic systems. Your breath sample will be analysed and result will be displayed onboard.
If you are drunk & if it exceeds 0.2 g/l, Alcoguard prevents the car from being started.
