Hey icecool, I had a question, what is the color of the backlight on your Nippon system??
I got the same system fitted in my polo but the backlighting is yellow. And it looks very odd in combination with other red lights in the interiors. Spoils the whole look.

Thanks in advance.
I saw some pictures of this system in a vento on the VW facebook page. Even there its back-lighting was yellow. Could you please upload a pic of your system in the polo? Ive been considering putting this in my polo. Apparently the dealer said it wont be a perfect fit.

Thanks!

Congrats on your new car . Vento looks amazing and those black leather seat covers looks fabulous. How much did you actually pay for the seat covers.

@icecool : got my vento diesel highline, its a complete wow :)
can u please tell me ur experience with ur music system
(nippon ndc mp 9019 bt)
the dealer has told me tht he can replace my existing system with this one.
But m really not sure, plz suggest at the earliest !!

Sorry for the late response.
I have used the Nippon system and it's a simple basic system. Has bluetooth and usb. Works well so far but for the price I feel it is overpriced. Also there are yellow/red lights when it plays and is especially disconcerting at nights.
I would suggest you go for a more integrated system like the Caska which has a GPS system with a display etc.

Hi icecool

Nice review of your drive. I am also planning to upgrade my from my manual i10 to an AT Sedan and am looking seriously at the Vento AT. Would you suggest it is a good car to own? Though my i10 is just 3 years old, the mad Bangalore traffic is just getting over my nerves and am definitely going for an automatic in the next few months. Considering the Vento, City and the Verna at the moment.

I plan to keep the car this time for longer duration - 5-6 years at least. Would you think VW can give hassle free ownership for that long? Thanks for any advice.

hey what kind of mileage is vento delivering
any thoughts on the same
On my Vento AT I get between 9 and 12 depending on traffic (daily drive is 6 KM to my office). Generally get around 12 on weekend jousts.

Overall mileage so far for about 1500 KM is 11. All figures are as on MID.

As per tank to tank method it was 9.8 for the first 600 km, 9.9 for next reading. Am on third tankful now.

All these are Bangalore city averages, generally on the Outer Ring Road. Its a fairly congested road, esp on week days if you know Bangalore traffic. Havent had a chance to take her on a long drive on any highway.

so you'd say any average of 10
sure bangalore city averages can be different based on congestion factor
has service centre informed you that it might improve
did you actually consider average factor before going for it

Yes the average is around 10. To put some perspective, earlier I had an i10 and that gave between 11-12 in city driving here (same conditions).

I knew about the average before buying (gone thru many ownership reports - for both City AT and Vento AT). All cars in this class deliver around this figure only. City AT also averages around 10 in the city (from about 5-6 ownership reports). There is no Diesel AT exept Verna that is too costly (costs more than 14L on road here in Bangalore). My main requirement was an Auto so vento was the only choice as I didnt like City that much to put 11+ big ones on it.
