Unsmooth Downshifting From Higher Gears To 2nd Gear

"Hi everyone,
I own a 2017 Ford EcoSport Diesel Titanium, and I’ve been facing an issue with downshifting. When I try to shift from a higher gear directly to 2nd gear, it doesn’t engage smoothly, and I end up having to shift down to 1st before I can shift up into 2nd. Has anyone else experienced this or have any advice on how to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated!

What higher gear is this that you are referring to?

And what speeds are you trying to downshift from to the 2nd gear?
