Hero MotoCorp records 27% growth in November sales
This 27% growth in the post-festive month of November is significant as it comes after our record retail sales in the month of October.
Hero MotoCorp Ltd (HMCL), the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, today reported its highest-ever sales in the month of November.
Hero MotoCorp despatched 536,772 units of two-wheelers in the month of November 2011, registering a growth of 27.4% over the corresponding month in 2010 when the company had sold 421,366 units.
The cumulative sales of Hero MotoCorp in the period April-November 2011, has now risen to 41,22,902 units, a 19.6% growth over the corresponding period last year (April-November’10) when the company had sold 34,46,602 units.
Commenting on November 2011 sales, Anil Dua, Senior Vice-President (Marketing & Sales), Hero MotoCorp said, “Our sales continue to set new benchmarks in the industry. We have been maintaining five-lakh-plus sales since August 2011, when we had launched our new brand identity.
This 27% growth in the post-festive month of November is significant as it comes after our record retail sales in the month of October. We plan to continue with our strategy of regular new launches, continuous network expansion and focused communication.”
Dr. Brijmohan Lall, Chairman, Hero MotoCorp, was in November bestowed with the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award” by “Enterprise Asia” at the Asia-Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2011. The award is instituted by Enterprise Asia, a non-government organization in pursuit of entrepreneurship development across Asia-Pacific region.
Hero MotoCorp continues to earn industry laurels for its innovative Information Technology (IT) initiatives.
The company was last month awarded the SAP ACE (Achieving Customer Excellence) Award - SAP Special Recognition for Best Adoption of Enterprise Support – by SAP AG for best usage of SAP Software and other tools in the organization. As a recognition of its contribution to Cloud Computing, Hero MotoCorp was also awarded the EMC Cloud Pioneer Award 2011 by EMC Corporation in November.
Hero MotoCorp’s Dealer Management System – Connect - was also awarded last month with the “Project with Maximum Business Impact” Award at the Best IT Implementation Awards 2011 instituted by PCQuest.

Yamaha India November sales rises 29.2 %
Yamaha continues to reinforce its relationship with the customers and has launched the ‘YES!YAMAHA’ campaign.
Zooming ahead on account of consistent success of its premium and commuter segment bikes coupled with innovative marketing strategies, India Yamaha Motor registered a total sales growth of 29.2% in November 2011 with a sale of 39,162 units vs. 30,310 units in November 2010. In domestic markets, the sales grew 24% year-over-year at 28,178 units in November 2011 vs. 22,710 units sold in the same period last year. The export figures stood at 10,984 units in November 2011 while 7,600 motorcycles were exported in November 2010, a growth of 44.5 %.
Speaking on the results, Mr. Jun Nakata, Director-Sales & Marketing, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd., said, “We are very happy with the consistent sales growth that we’ve been witnessing this year. The new YZF-R15 Version 2.0 along with FZ & SZ series is driving our sales in both domestic and export markets. We plan to reach out to customers in tier II & tier III cities and are expanding our sales & service network in these regions. Our efforts towards enhancing our relationship with our esteemed customers through various initiatives like the Yamaha Safe Riding Science, R15 One Make Race Championships and the Sales & Service camps have also been very fruitful.”
Yamaha continues to reinforce its relationship with the customers and has launched the ‘YES!YAMAHA’ campaign that endeavors to provide the Best 3S Experience so that the customer always appreciates Yamaha and accepts the brand like the word “YES”. The company is making steadfast efforts by conducting various consumer-centric marketing initiatives such as ‘Bring back the Joy’ campaign wherein various customer interactive activities are conducted locally so as to reach out to the customer right at his doorstep.

TVS Motor total sales up 12% in November

The Company is confident of achieving the annual growth target of 15%.
TVS Motor Company registered total sales of 175,535 units in November 2011 compared to 157,041 units in the corresponding month of the previous year, a growth of 12%.
The company’s cumulative sales for the period April to November 2011 grew by 12% with sales of 1,499,612 units against 1,341,106 units recorded in the previous comparable period.
“As a result of lower overall economic growth, high inflation, increased fuel prices and interest rates, we expect some moderation in the growth of two wheelers over the next three to six months. Hence we did not want to increase trade stocks. Consequently billing for the month is lower than our initial indication," TVS Motor said in a statement.
However, the Company added that it was confident of achieving the annual growth target of 15%.
Two Wheeler:
Total two wheeler sales grew by 12% with sales of 172,829 units in November 2011 in comparison with 153,882 units recorded in November 2010.
Scooter sales increased by 22% with sales of 44,301 units compared to 36,233 units recorded in November 2010. Motorcycles recorded sales of 62,608 units in November 2011 against 62,995 units in November 2010.
Domestic two wheeler sales of the company reported a growth of 8% with sales of 150,406 units in November 2011 against 139,541 units reported in November 2010.
Exports:
Exports grew by 53% registering total sales of 24,271 units in November 2011 against 15,850 units in the same month of the previous year. The company exported 22,423 units of two wheelers in November 2011 in comparison with 14,341 units in November 2010, a growth of 56%.
Three Wheeler:
The company sold 2,706 units of three wheelers in November 2011 against 3,159 units in the same month of the previous year. Cumulative three wheeler sales for the period of April 2011 to November 2011 grew by 21% with sales of 29,524 units compared to 24,363 units registered during the same period of the previous year.
