tvs-ntorq-125-left-rear-three-quarter0.jpg

After teasing the new Ntorq 125 XT recently, TVS Motor Company has finally launched the new version of the 125cc scooter in India. The prices of the Ntorq 125 XT start at Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom) which makes it the most expensive variant of the scooter yet. For the extra premium, it brings a bunch of additional goodies to the table.

The new XT trim sports a new Neon Green paint scheme which looks attention-grabbing with updated graphics. Moreover, the alloy wheels are different from other variants. These units don’t just look more premium with slimmer spokes, TVS says they are also lighter and contribute to better performance and savings in fuel.

The biggest change comes in the form of an updated instrument cluster. This new split-type display is a combination of a TFT screen and an LCD. While the Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect tech was already available, it is now accompanied by SmartXtalk and SmartXtrack functions. While the former is an advanced version of voice assistance (already available in Race XP), the latter allows keeping track of notifications on the weather, news, cricket, social media, etc. TVS has also equipped the Ntorq 125 XT with its IntelliGO start-stop technology which is essentially a silent-start system.

The Ntorq 125 XT remains unchanged in all other areas.

All-Black TVS Ntorq Race XP teased – New Stealth colour possible

all-black-tvs-ntorq-race-xp-teased-launch-price.jpg

If there is one colour which is universally accepted to have a lot of appeal, it has to be Black. In cars, scooters and motorcycles, Black is often a sought after colour, even in a hot country like India. TVS has been launching Black Editions of their products to boost sales and something similar is cooking for Ntorq 125 as well.

While it is not exactly confirmed that it will be called ‘Black Edition’. TVS Motor’s website calls it as “New Ntorq Race XP”. Company’s official teaser on social media handles hints at an all black vehicle that will exude a lot of attitude. As seen in the teaser, there are not likely to be as many stickers and decals on this particular model too.

all-black-tvs-ntorq-race-xp-teased-launch-price-1-e1722676542235.jpg

TVS’ teaser starts by mentioning “We’ve heard you”. This suggests that the upcoming colourway has been constantly asked for at showrooms and TVS collected this feedback from their dealer partners. It goes on to say “Prepare to be spellbound while darkness takes over you”.

The company has also announced that bookings for this upcoming colourway has been commenced. It should cost a couple of thousands extra over what the Ex-sh price of TVS Ntorq currently costs. Which is between Rs 89,641 and Rs 1,05,841 (Ex-sh, Delhi).

Going by TVS’ recent Black Edition with regard to Apache RTR 160 2V and Apache RTR 160 4V, there is a high probability of TVS Ntorq Black Edition. We might get an all-black murdered look with black decals and stickering for that stealth look. Wheels and other elements are also likely to be black.

Currently, TVS sells Race Edition and Super Squad Editions of Ntorq along with trim levels like Disc, Race XP and the top-spec XT. Depending on the trim level, TVS Ntorq offers a comprehensive suite of connectivity with its proprietary SmartXonnect app.

Where performance is concerned, All-Black TVS Ntorq Race XP is likely to bear the same performance boost as standard Race XP. This means it will come equipped with the same 124.8cc single-cylinder 3V oil-cooled engine with 10.2 PS of peak power and 10.9 Nm of peak torque. There will be two riding modes too – Street and Race.

Currently, TVS Ntorq Race XP is priced at Rs 97,491 (Ex-sh, Delhi) and the new all-black version might cost a couple of thousand rupees more. Componentry like RSU telescopic front forks, 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends, front disc brake will remain similar to standard Race XP. As it is not the top-spec XT trim, it will miss out on the more advanced instrument cluster.

TVS Ntorq 125 gets new colours

20240809125240_TVS_NTORQ_Race_XP_Black.jpg

TVS says that it has noticed a shift in customer preferences towards minimalist and modern designs, which has led to the introduction of the new colour schemes on the popular Ntorq 125.

The TVS Ntorq 125 range is now available in four new colours – Turquoise, Harlequin Blue, Nardo Grey and Matte Black. However, the Matte Black is a special edition colour that's only available with the range-topping Ntorq Race XP. The company had sent out a teaser for this just last week.

20240809125246_TVS_NTORQ_125_Nardo_Grey.jpg

TVS currently sells five versions of the Ntorq with the other three – Race Edition, Super Squad and XT – continuing with their existing colour options.

The TVS Ntorq is one of the more sporty and youthful options in the 125cc space, and is the second most popular scooter in the company’s line-up, after the Jupiter. The Ntorq uses a 3-valve 124.8cc engine that produces 9.5hp and 10.6Nm. The Race XP gets a small increase in performance figures – 10.2hp and 10.9Nm.

20240809125246_TVS_NTORQ_125_Turquoise.jpg

The base model gets features like an LCD display with limited Bluetooth connectivity. The Race XP adds more Bluetooth functionality and also has two riding modes. The range-topping Race XT version comes with a TFT display.

Prices start at Rs 89,641 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and go up Rs 1.05 lakh for the Race XT.
