No issue with front wheel, the rear one does not rotate freely and I can feel the vibration while riding. When riding solo, bike runs normally but if pillion is there then it needs effect to pull.

Also rear suspension has started to make noise on uneven roads. 3rd service is due this month and I will surely tell SA about solving the issue.

During last service I showed SA how the rear wheel doesn't spin and he said "Saar it's like that only" it's normal.

3rd Service Update :

Good morning everyone, on Friday jupiter went for its 3rd free service at 6300 kilometres. On average it has run for 1000 km per month. I had a few niggles which I mentioned to service advisor and he assured me that it will be taken care of. He persuaded me to go for the replacement of spark plug and air filter. He said it is necessary to change it every 6000 km. When I checked the manual it is recommended to change every 12000 kms.

Maybe he was not aware of that or wantedly said it. I decided not to change it now. I was monitoring when the mechanic was doing the service, the problem is still not solved I am observing same vibration from rear wheel when driving it. I don't know what is rubbing against the break drum but sometimes it runs very smooth and sometimes it vibrates. I think I have to live with it.

Another issue was of rear suspension, it was making squeaking noise when two persons were riding. When driving solo I didn't hear the noise but when weight was increased, it used to make noise. Another thing was noise when rear break was applied, that is gone now. It was so irritating to have noise coming from new vehicle.

Mileage of jupiter has increased and it gives me around 45 to 48 kmpl in city, I don't take it on long rides on highway. I am happy with mileage. Suspension is superb except for the noise coming from rear spring.

Overall jupiter is serving me well, I just hope their service is improved. Its a very good product from TVS company.

Hello everyone... Jupiter has run 7500 kms as of today and overall there are no complaints about the ride. It is running smooth, since last month usage has dropped as my dad is using it for his daily commute.

The only issue with my Jupiter is the vibration below 40kmph speed, when I go upto 50kmph there is no vibration at all. It goes upto 60 and above without any fuss. But it is not possible to drive at those speeds in city traffic.

I don't whether this happens with all Jupiter scooters or it is only in my scooter. I tried to make service advisor understand about the vibration but they didn't understand it. Also SA was pushing me for brake pads change and spark plug change during 3re service. Whereas recommended interval is 12000km.

TVS will call you after the service and ask you to rate them... If you rate them 8 out of 10 then person will say that again call will come and asks me to give higher rating. They will ask you to visit if any issue is not solved but their SA and mechanics don't understand what the problem is.

I wish TVS improve their after sales and service by hiring knowledgeable staff.

I've a 2015 Jupiter run 8k km, with no such vibration issues, take a second opinion by another dealer, or a known FNG, few Bolt's tightening on the handle and column seems to be the issue.

I don't feel it above 40kmph, there is lot of annoying vibration below that. I have tried 2 dealers in my area but the issue was not solved. Will take it outside and ask the mechanic about it.

Good Morning everyone

4th Free Service Update:

Its been long time since I updated this thread so here is the 4th service update. Jupiter is not driven by me since last two months, dad is using it most of the time.
No issues apart from Ugly Vibration around 40kmph speeds.

Yesterday morning I took it for service at 9 am. They had just opened and no other bikes were there for servicing. The guy made the Job Card and asked if I had any other issues with Jupiter. I mentioned about the harsh vibration, Noise when brake applied, rear suspension noise when going over uneven surfaces. They took it for washing and after that a guy drained the engine oil while another one removed rear tyre and checked brake pads. It still has more life and can be used till next service,he cleaned with sand paper and air then removed the dust from brake drum.
Oil was changed then (TVS ) brand. I went in and asked him to change the transmission oil,he made face like (What is transmission oil) then I showed him. He asked me to go and sit in lounge ,I was keeping eye on them but he didn't change it. He said oil level is not reduced.
I think we should change the transmission oil Along with engine oil, if not then please let me know.

It took around 90 minutes to service, they tightened all the bolts ,adjusted brakes.

Mechanic then took it for test ride and said everything is fine. But the vibration issue is still there.

I am fed up with this, i don't think i will be going to TVS service next time, but finding good mechanic for Scooters is difficult outside.
TVS made a good product but am not happy with their service, they are unable to solve the issue. I wish they hire people who have knowledge about their products.

Its sad to learn of your plight with vibrations.
Have you, by chance tried balancing the wheels? In cars, unbalanced wheels will give speed related vibrations.

I didn't do that. Will try it outside shop and see if it works or not.

Thanks

The current odo is 8750 kilometres in 9 months. It has run about 1000km average per month. The mileage overall is about 45 -46 kmpl in only city.

No complaints here, it will start in one self in the morning. No puncture or breakdown till now. Just a few scratches here and there .

First Breakdown :

Last night it rained heavily and Jupiter was parked outside that time. Morning dad took it for work and the self starter was not working. It started with kick but again turned off,he had to push it in the end. He called me and I gave him another bike and took Jupiter from him.

First I put it on centre stand and tried to kick start it, after some time it started. Directly took it to TVS service, asked them to check the issue. He said battery is drained and asked me to charge it outside. He said battery charging is not working there. I didn't like his response because during last service I asked mechanic to check battery and without seeing he said no need to do anything battery is working fine.

SA again asked me to wait for some time and I said OK. Then they opened all the panels ( Seat, front panel, crash guard, headlights) and did something. He checked with new battery and it started with self. After working on it for almost an hour he said battery is not working, try charging outside and returned the vehicle. They don't know the reason why battery drained suddenly, they had blank look when I asked the reason.

Till then I have to use Kick to start it.

I will update once battery will be charged.

Battery Failure at 8900 KMS:

Jupiter came with AMCO battery which lasted 9 months. Today morning I went to dealer with battery and he asked me to visit EXCIDE battery store ( my battery was AMCO) If he said that battery is dead then only battery will be sent for replacement under warranty. I said I already checked yesterday and battery didn't charge, what more evidence do you need now?

Again I took the battery there where they checked it and said battery is dead. I returned to dealer and asked him to replace the battery. He said he will send it for claim (To Hyderabad) and it will take 20 days for new battery to arrive.

I said I will wait till then but asked him to arrange a temporary battery for me so that I can start vehicle. He said they don't have spare batteries and I have to ride without battery for 20 days atleast.

Moreover he said these batteries don't last more than a year. How irresponsible TVS? What would you do for a bike without Kick? How will you ask him to ride without battery?

This is so irresponsible from TVS . Using Kick start is not that easy for scooter compared to bike, it will be very difficult for my dad to kick start everytime . Even after explaining my situation they didn't bother and said I have to wait for new battery.

In the end I asked them to take the old battery to which they asked me to bring Licence, RC and Invoice along with Battery warranty card for claim. I gave the documents and came back.

Yesterday when I went to them they didn't inform me that I will need to bring these documents. Also they have batteries in their stock which they can give to their customers and get battery under warranty claim. Why customer has to suffer for 20 days?

What will you do if customer has bike without Kick start and his battery fails? Will you ask him to manage like that?
Is it not cheating that TVS is giving battery which don't last a year?

I can understand your pain.Same thing happened with my Activa 125. At least you can claim warranty. Honda people simply refused warranty on battery after 18 months of ownership.
Get sealed/water free Amaron battery next time and it will last some distance.
