Hi Srid68, Congrats on your new acquisition.

Wish you miles of Safe and Happy Motoring.

Before the long drive check the tyre pressure early morning.
Thanks Mukesh. Will definitely check the tyre pressure before start of journey

I was just kidding, its rubbish if one ask for a mileage of a BMW or Audi car, the name is sufficient. BTW it’s a petrol or diesel engine? One thing I didn’t get why the DVD player inside the grove box separately?
Normally multidisc changers used to be fitted in the boot. Later there used to be in-dash systems like the one I had on my Optra Magnum. However, BMW has it mounted inside the glove box and it is actually a pull out arrangement with the changer remaining hidden most of the time. Frankly speaking multidisc changers are obsolete in today's world[;)]

Yes its looks like a hidden type inside the glove box and its good to be a multidisc changers and the head unit also looks like having a CD player. Don’t know the concept to keep it separate. I have a Fluidic Verna and XUV but so far we never even tested to play a CD as USB drives does all in one job.

One vital question: does your car have Around View or Bird view system? I’ve seen this in these days BMW cars factory fitted, its awesome.

Soumen, the head unit has a DVD player and the 525D & 530D offers an addtional DVD changer. This is probably the reason why it is kept separate. DVD changers are not provided on the 520d.

My car does not have the Around View or Bird view. I believe this is offered in Europen continent only. Many of the 'Smart' features are not provided in the cars sold in India. This one has the standard rear view camera, but has an excellent coverage and night vision unlike the after market fitting in my Polo.

Ok I got about the DVD player, I’ve no idea about these BMW model features. And I didn’t see any car with Around View system stock fitted in Indian so far and don’t know about BMW india but I’ve seen these like features provided from the base model in BMW cars in some countries.

Minor update
Complete 250kms yesterday. Car runs smooth as silk. Learning new things. Yesterday I wanted to fit my old BMW DVD tablet for rear seat entertainment. To do this brackets needs to be fitted on both front seats below the head rest. Try as I may the headrest did not seem to lift up or come out. Unfortunately the manual was not handy. The work is still pending. Nevertheless today morning I accidently realised that the headrest also moves up & down electrically! In the evening I will fit the bracket and post some picts. My first DIY on the BMW

Thanks type-r, karthick and rajvel. It is an awesome machine and the road presence is tremendous. Will be driving down to Nasik this evening. I have used the paddle shifts and sports mode on the 328i and this should not be any different. Today's drive will give me a feel of the same. I will post my experience after returning on Monday. Mods only after getting some more Vit M. Wife has put a full stop currently[:)]
I got the following done yesterday - 3D Mats, mudflaps, bumper protector strip. Pictures are attached.

Congrats srid68. [clap]

I don't know how I missed this thread. This blue is one of the best colors offered by BMW and the color of interiors are adding more charm to it.

Waiting for your first hand experience on highway cruise.

Hi all, I did about 500kms over the weekend. We started for Nashik on Friday evening and took about 2 hrs 22 min to cover 154km. The roads are great except for small bad patches. I tried out the sport mode with manual gear control using paddle shifters and the drive was amazing. We were four adults (2 heavy and 2 light). At no point of time did we feel we will lift off the road. Due to winter the light fades faster and the bright white xenons are a boon. It lights up the road and there is abosultely nothing one can miss. Reached upto 150kmph mark at one time but knowing our highways quickly went back to 110 - 120 kmph. At the end of the journey the car computer showed 13.0 kmpl FE. Not bad considering the type of driving and passenger load. Pictures are attached

Next day we did a trip to Saputara and back this time with 6 adults (4 heavy and 2 light). The back seat is not comfortable for 4 nevertheless we wanted to have the BMW thrill. I will not recommend 4 persons on the back in any of the German cars due to the tunnel for the driveshaft which protrudes at the centre. This time the roads were horrible for most sections. It took us almost 3 hours while going to cover 90 kms and on the return it took about 21/2 hours for the same distance. The car behaved extremely well considering the bad roads. I was constantly slowing down for on-coming traffic, pot holes and craters[:)]. I got an overall FE of 10.8kmpl.

Finally we returned back to Mumbai on Sunday. This time I decided to use Cruise Control and managed to keep it on for more than 100 km on the whole journey. This is really a boon and car was lazing at 82 kmph constant speed. At one point I got a whopping 20.1 kmpl FE. It was a truly wonderful feeling and I stopped just to click a picture. At one point after covering 159 km the DTE showed an amazing figure of 1006 km. Imagine I could to Mumbai-Banglore with the fuel left! I have also attached the picure of the fuel guage at that point. Finally after reaching home the figures read 162 km covered, 2hrs 50 min and FE of 18.6 kmpl. Analyzing the onward and return journey the difference in time to cover the same distance was just about 20 min but was a very relaxed drive. In fact other motorists overtaking me looked shocked at the slow speed of my car[;)]

Awaiting comments from all TAINs.

Hi,
I think this was the first BMW 525 Post.
Interiors as you mentioned, it’s in top quality. The mileage you are getting is also fantastic for such a high powered Car.

Congratulations srid68 for the Beamer[clap]. That's my favorite sedan when it comes to luxury sedans.

And really like the color. Saw a 5 series in the same color on display in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon few weeks back and dude it just mesmerized me.

Wish you miles of happiness with your new beast.
