Update/Recall:

Got call from Tata Motors stating that there is a recall on the catalytic converter in Tata Zest XT, got it replaced under warranty. The cost of the part is 17k. The replacement took about 5 hours. No change observed by me after the update but believe it has to do something with emission.

Thanks for the update and I have seen multiple posts on the zest FB page on this. Everybody says that it is for XT/XTA variants only? Is it confirmed? If yes, any specific reason for that? Is it something to do with the 90 PS engine only as XE/XM/XMS now have the 75 PS engine only?

Tarik, the update is for XT/XTA 90 ps engine only.

This has something to do with emission. There is no change in the cars performance after the update.
It seems Tata is caring about emission.

What about earlier batches of XM/XMS diesel cars which comes in 90ps?

I have booked the XTA version. Could you point out the niggles you have found in the car doesn't matters big or small, the point is, are those OK to live up with or shall i cancel my booking

Dont cancel the booking. Your XTA will be coming with the new Catalytic converter. If the stock is old they will update it for free.
You have taken the correct decision. Zest is the best!

Well it seems that tata has stopped producing XTA's now, they have taken the option out from online booking as well. I have cancelled tata and booked the dzire zdi amt.

I have an XMA and my dealer is clueless about this CC update. God save Tata from such dealers who have zero clarity on anything.

Completed 35000 KM!!

Changed brake pads at 25K. (Ordered Altech brake pads online and changed it. DIY)
AC filter cleaned at 30K again a DIY.
Tyre rotation done at 25K.
Now the ODO stands at 35k and in another 5k the brake pads will have to be changed.
The stock tyres will be changed at 40k. 2 tires at the back are 50% bald now.

Still running on stock batteries. I check the fluid level once in 6 months and top up if needed.

3 services completed and all done at Prerana Motors Kudlu gate. I stand near my car through out the service and thoroughly monitor each and every work by the service guy on my car.

4th service will be done at 40-45k in another 6 months.

I have not faced any issue with my Zest till now. Driven through all roads with confidence.
