Knight Rider my point is not to question your choice, but to rather understand what i am missing - its for my benefit , i am here for my love of vehicles.
I agree with you on grand i10 - it will tick most boxes for most people in that segment. I wouldnt put my money on sail though, the car isnt built well(compared to competition) and the petrol engine is horrible, i dont know about the diesel to be honest. Looks is a matter of individual choice, so no comments on that.

dear mods
I think the poll could be more objective .We cannot compare a Volvo V40 /Merc A Class/BMW to an amaze or grand i10. All these vehicles have its own plus points ,but we need to have different categories ,since you cannot compare an elephant to a squirrel [;)]. The categorization can be price wise,body wise,Engine capacity wise etc.
Or at least make it in hatch/sedan/MPV/SUV/Crossover.
Another option is only put a maximum 5 cars that mods feel to publish and go for a vote.
Three or 4 categories will be a good option.
I welcome more thoughts on this.These were my suggestions for next year.
BTW I did vote.

@IR,

My opinion is same as @knightrider about Sail Sedan leaving the troubles it has. With that price it looked to me like a proper sedan and not our so called CS versions. Yes this opinion is pure subjective[;)]

For me it has to be "Mercedes Benz A-Class". I know Ecosport & Amaze are there but they didn't create a new segment as such. Just an improved value-for-money propositions.

With A-class, Merc gave users a car which doesn't have to be BIG to be classy.

Based on the criteria mentioned on the thread definitely Ford Ecosport is the car which is bang for the money. Otherwise its the Skoda Octavia the legend has really came back.

It's ecosport for its wonderful design.. First of its kind in India. I voted for it but still have my own doubts on its reliability, it being from the ford stable.

+1 for Sail Sedan. Since its very decent, no aerodynamic cuts and a VFM. Wish had more powered engine but would effect mileage. Second is Cruze as premium sedan. If there was second vote option, I would vote EcoSport but don't like its dashboard, Same goes for Fiesta.

Looking at everything, out there and trying out my hands on Ecosport and some more mentioned above.

My vote goes for the one which is 'not on the top'. Hyundai Grand i10 it is for me. Look at the price this car is being offered and then having a look at all this car offers - simply irresistible car it is. Be it interior quality, features, performance or FE. This car offers the best of all worlds and above all - this car has got something that many Hyundais miss - great ride quality with great high speed dynamics
