During the entire year 2010, we all have noticed various changes in the automotive industry, but what still remains unchanged is The Automotive India Car of The Year (TAICOTY). Initiated since last year, TAICOTY aims to provide the audience an idea about the most preferred car model amongst them, where the jury is no one, but you – Yourself. The polling process of TAICOTY is performed in the community itself, which is crystal-clear by allowing our members/visitors to see who has voted for which car. In 2009, the winner was quite obviously the Fiat Grande Punto. Let us find out who steals the precious accolade for 2010. So what are you waiting for? Hurry, and Go ahead, because each vote counts. This Poll will automatically close on February 1, 2011 and the results will be announced thereafter. To make this annual event of our community even grand - Here we request for your suggestions on how TAICOTY ’10 can be recognized throughout the year 2011.

Reason: It is the beginning of revolution of Indian automotive engineering!

Reason: It is probably the fastest sedan available and also arguably the best looking. not cheap but hey it is very very cool!

Reason: Man, this is surely a pocket-rocket! it is quite cheap and boy it is fast!

Reason: actually i love the FIAT Grande Punto, but second best is the Figo.

My Vote: TATA Aria
Reason: There are other cars that are better such as the superb XC60 and Yeti and many more, but this is really the most spacious and quite surprisingly well built and quite safe car. so it ticks all checks that the Volvo and the Yeti have. That is why i know that is a crossover!

Reason: A good leap forward from TATA and altogether creating a new segment!

Reason: Most obvious because the best sedan of the lot but considering a more practical option i would choose VW Vento.

Reason: For the price tag you get almost every feature what you need in a car.

Reason: Its actually a tough competition between Beat , Wagon-R , Polo and Micra but IMO Figo is better overall to me.

My Vote: Hyundai Santa-Fe
Reason: I would have actually given it to the Skoda Yeti if not for the bad A.S.S of Skoda. Next best to Yeti is Santa-Fe according to me.

Can we not add the Linea TJET and also the Punto 90HP?

Basically, the main cars which have received major changes on the exteriors as well as under the hood are included as TAICOTY Nominees, whereas the Linea and Punto were already launched and included previous year, primarily what they have received this year is just an optional engine upgrade which does not actually qualifies to include them in the list. However, like mentioned in the opening post, you are allowed to vote for these cars in one of the additional categories.
