Its way better than the Omni, the omni has a 796cc engine(M800 engine).
If this Tata is priced well, it'll kill Omni sales.

Price will be around 4 lacs. Not in the Omni's region, but still can pose a big threat.

Even Maruti Omni is due for an upgrade, So the competiton may get stiffer. Tata Magic comes at a cheap price but not as good as the Omni, Hope things get better with this new launch from Tata Motors.

Hello All,
Today while on the move I was stuck in a traffic jam , Suddenly what I noticed was a Hard Top Tata Ace Van and clicked these Pictures. Due to Traffic Jam I was unable to catch it otherwise more images were Guaranteed. Speaking About this Hard Top Tata Ace, Its just looks like another regular van but surprisingly didn't had the rear doors.

Actually it looks like a shrinked version of Tata Bus, Especially from the rear view.

Hard top version are already running here ,

A red coloured van like this is commonly seen here , surender must have captured it.

It has a interior decorated like a room with screen , lcd with dark tinted glass .

In 1st pic, the tail lamps look new and different from current Age Magic. But the way they are designed indicates that it is a Tata vehicle.

In 2nd pic, seeing at front door, its very similar to Ace Magic.

I spotted it on Mumbai - Bangalore Highway between Satara and Pune. Could see many Indicruz too but they were coming from opposite direction so could not click them.

Yes, This time things seems to go a better way than earlier. It's rear lights are no different than other Tata Family vehicles. Also some cues have been taken from Mercedes Viano.

Tata's upcoming van is code named "Pelican", Some specifications from vicky.in

Tata Pelican is a van which comes in 5 seater / 8 seater configuration. Pelican will be powered by 1.4L Indica engine developing 70bhp of peak power at 4500rpm and 135Nm of peak torque at 2500rpm (the same engine that powers the Indica Vista 1.4 TDI). The Indirect Injection, turbo charged, intercooled is coupled with five speed transmission. With a claimed maximum speed of 125km/hr + pelican could be a good option for inter city travel too.Similar to winger and Omni, Pelican sports sliding doors at the sides. The dimensions of the Pelican are 3.9m in length, 1.5m wide and 1.8m taller. With a wheelbase of 2.1m, Pelican promises spacious cabin for occupants.
