Hi,

Can i get a new Manifold from somewhere.

Hi,

I am going for complete engine overhaul as it has back compression as per the mechanic suggestion.. Could you just give me a approximate budget for that. And what i should look for as i am totally new to this engine work.

As well i want to complete check up of my Sierra. Could u also let me know what other areas i should take care of and if possible an approximate budget for that.

Thanks in Advance

An Full engine overhaul including head works etc must cost roughly 25k.
may shot more due to other small expence. just be reqady with a max of 30k.
among this , about 10k will the labour charges.

For engine work ,
one need , need lining(Bore) , new piston , piston rings
In head new valves , and other parts.

Connect rod bearing etc , may too have worn out and may need replacement.
If the clutch is more than 70% used , just get new clutch/cover assy and release bearing.

Clutch must cost around 4k to 5k , no idea . just my guess compared to sumo old type.

black/ grey/ maroon / dark blue will be nice for the sierra.

Each brand has its own colour code.
just go to any paint shop and select colours according to the car manufacturer brands.

say , Go to a dupond shop and ask for the colour cataloge of the audi /benz/lambo etc.
drool over and select[evil]

Re: The Tata Sierra Restoration Project

Please guide me this is my first time here and i dont know much about automobiles.
I bought a tata sierra '95 from first owner last year. I am in love with this truck. but as with everyone there are some changes or modifications I wish to know about and the possibility/feasibility.

I always feel it is slightly bend towards the back and I wish to raise its rear height for many reasons (the roll). not sure if it can be done on coil springs and I dont want to change them to leaf or any other. I had original shockers installed few months ago.

the air conditioner is disappointing. I did get a custom blower switch installed which increases air flow but not cooling. and in any condition the car never crosses 50% temp gauge but with ac on it shoots upto the red mark. though all mechanics have confirmed me here that its alright with tata sierra to get heated up with ac on. can i increase cooling and reduce the temp in any way? change to aluminium radiator or change ac unit? how successful would rear cooling wall unit would be?

the front dashboard also releases lot of heat when driving for long or on very sunny day.

lastly can somebody pls help me find its rear bumper corners & ply for doors. everything else is in great shape.

many thanks in advance.

Congrats for the car .

Could you post pictures .

From your query , i think you need to change the coil spring.

Get sierra coils. seller may try to sell safari coil spring which is exact fit , but a inch or more extra in height , which male the front dip

Clean up the radiator. changing to aluminum radiator is last most option and not need in most case.

Sierra red mark is less than 100 degree for sure.
where as modern day cars , almost 60% scale is 95 degree.

Check up my thread for alternate way . I have added a electric fan.

For ac , Sierra from 94 has subros unit , prior to that it had denso unit .

subros unit runs good for 20 years kind of if ac gas is maintained well.

This unit with superking blower and cooling coil is best .

Superking /unicla as called is 12k for original and 8k duplicate. beware.

Go for rear cooling wall if you are not satisfied with front , i bet you wont !

thank you so much for your guidance. I will try to post pics soon.
new coil springs sound good and if they give an increase to rear height it will be brilliant. i will look for safari coils.

superking unicla. will see if its available in jaipur my city.

what about rear bumper corners. do you know anywhere one can find them. are they available in your city.
