So seems to me that TATA has a winner in hand this time around. Though safari has always been a winner in the rugged SUV segment. so much fan followingin the real off roading world this vehicle has . this vehicle is a vehicle to be owned by heart and not by brains. but given these feedback about the drive i feel, now even the brain will go the heart way. TATA wish you all the best.

I am hearing nothing but praises about this Varicor engine. And various forums and sites confirmed that the ride is much better and power is just superb. I for one, would happily go for Storme for off-roading than other's in the price range. Let's wait and watch! I always had a soft spot for Safari and this just give it one more pat on the back for TATA!!

People who are chasing funny electronics will be the ones who will never buy a Safari, because they will not understand what this vehicle is about. I am glad because of this, Safari sells less and so owners enjoy unique road presence.

I don't want everyone to start buying Safari like maruti swift and wherever you go you find hundreds in road. TATA... Please don't add the Nav system and other nonsence to Safari, just provide 4x4 as option across the variant range :)

Good step by Putting it as Real SUV with the proper ingredients.

Few things required to be done.

#A great Add
#Proper explanation of SUV to be highlighted to the public
#Launch Hexa ASAP to take care of third row front facing seating requirements and higher sales
#Please change/Remove the front Grill chrome strip and modify the Headlamps (Much Needed) or at least get an after market fitment/accessories on lines of Ladakh concept
#AT transmission

And yes let it be less selling product to have that pride/exclusiveness of Safari owner

You can try with Concorde Motors in Ambattur near Anna Nagar [3kms from Tirumangalam signal]. I used to service my car TATA Indigo CS from 2008 till I have sold out the CAR in March 2013. The ASC is 100% subsidiary of TATA Motors.

I use your sister vehicle to go to office. Today, I drove from my house in North Pune to my office in South Pune (30 kms) via Kolhapur (400 kms), sporting a number plate which was neither white nor yellow! . Oh, I loved it, driving this thingy makes you "King of the Road"! I guess if I had a long red "tilak" on my forehead and if I was wearing spotlessly clean and starched white clothes, with matching white shoes and white cap in this white vehicle (with a couple of stickers and flags thrown in for good measure), I would have saved some toll money (just kidding)! . Sister vehicle to Storme (one that shares the same chassis) is the Hexa, which is under development and close to production. UNLESS therz a massive surprise under wraps.

I dont think there will be any massive surprise. If it is then it will be still 2 years away and earliest we may see is mid 2017. We have Tiago in March, Hexa in June, Nexon and Kite to follow. this makes 2 vehicles per year. So basically 2017 is also full from release point of view. So not being too optimistic. It will well be the Hexa.

Having said that I would want to have the "Khayali pulav" and think it will be a Safari with Rover inputs. (Mighty imagination at work)

Coming back to this thread, It seems the safari is slowly started to pick up. Safari sold more than Bolts in Feb 2016 and around 45% increase in MoM figures.

It all depends whether the sister he mentions is the younger or the older one. See the product time lines of TATA motors for ideas.

It definitely should be the Hexa; undergoing ARAI tests in Pune. And it has a RED number plate.
I guess, our fellow TAI-ger buddies at Pune should get something on their camera if they get onto the right roads at the right time.

Tata Safari Varicor-400 now in EX?

Friends we know that Varicor-400 tech and six speed gearbox is available in 'VX' trim. But today I come to know from one of the forum member in Dehradun that Varicor-400 and six speed gear is available in "EX" trim. This information is from dealer. I checked official website there is no mention of this.

If this is true, it will be great news. And this is logical since auto gear in coming in 'VX" trim.
