1)The only problem is there is a lot of sound coming from engine, took it to TASS centre and they told me that the sound is due to CAM gear and it need to be replaced. Don't know how a worn in cam gear can make engine sound increase that much.

2) The clutch is very hard but there is no slippage, no problem in gear change

Please let me know if someone has faced the same problem and how it was resolved?

Hi Shahid, The sound from the engine could be because of various reasons:
1. 3.0 Dicor engine is sibling of 407 Truck engine, which is noisy in nature.
2. Knocking sound could be the reason because of bad injectors.
3. Tappet setting could also be the reason.
4. Bad Engine mounts could also share the role of noise and vibrations.

By nature, the clutch of 3.0 Dicor is too hard and even if you will replace it by new one, after few days it tends to become harder. You have to live with it.
My Safari 3.0 Dicor was suffered from same issues, after injector repair and tappet setting, noise reduced significantly. Clutch was too hard and new clutch was 50% soft, however after 300 KM, the nature of the clutch changed again.

What is fuel avg. you are getting from your 3.0?
