Deliveries of the micro electric SUV are slated to commence 22 January 2024 onwards. The homegrown carmaker is offering the Punch EV in five trims namely Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+. These are further divided into standard and Long Range variants.

Tata Punch EV design
The all-electric Punch gets a completely redesigned front fascia resonating with the Currv concept and the recently launched Nexon EV facelift. This includes a thin LED strip running across the width of the bonnet and revised front bumper housing new vertically stacked twin-pod LED headlamps and fog lamps. The nose is sealed and the bumper comprises sleek vertical air dams.

The side profile and silhouette visibly remain unchanged with the biggest highlight being 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear as well, the layout is fairly similar to its ICE sibling featuring the same wraparound tail lamps with Y-shaped LED elements, and a sculpted tailgate. The only difference being the addition of a faux silver-coloured skid plate at the rear bumper.

Another unique touch is the Tata logo at the centre serving as the charging port inlet. Also, there is nice storage space under the bonnet, useful to store the charging cables and adapters. Tata Motors is offering the subcompact electric crossover in five dual-tone colour schemes including Empowered Oxide, Seaweed, Fearless Red, Daytona Grey, and Pristine White, all available with a black roof and pillars.

Other notable changes include a fully-digital 10.25-inch instrumentation, touch-sensitive HVAC controls, and Tata’s new two-spoke, illuminated steering wheel.

Tata Nexon EV LR with 40.5kWh battery discontinued

The Tata Nexon EV now gets only two battery pack options – down from three – as the Indian brand has discontinued the mid-spec 40.5kWh battery version. At the launch of the Nexon EV facelift in September 2023, the all-electric compact SUV was offered with 30kWh (MR) and 40.5kWh (LR) battery options; Tata added the 45kWh battery option a year later.
