How old is your Nexon? Because I see your thread date as early August, but you seem to have the earlier version, as seen from your speedometer console, which had the analog type fuel and temp Guage.

My July 2018 made Nexon XMA, delivered in August 1st week, has no temp Guage and has digital fuel Guage.

^^ I did not get you , can you post a pic of your speedo console. AFAIK Nexon shares same console with Tigor.
Hello Anshuman, if you see closely the second picture of my Fanta-B thread, I've posted the speedo console..

I guess the same is now upgraded. There is a E-to-F indicator included in MID. I think Vinod ji means that.

Correct Akash, the digital E-To-F fuel indicator, and the temperature is denoted as a blue insignia at the end of tachometer.

My Nexon was booked in June end and delivered on 9th July. Maybe TML has made these changes during the one month period between mine and your car delivery [:)]

Does your model have a 12 volt power outlet for the rear passengers ?

Was your car delivered from their stock? As a fresh factory car wouldn't have the socket.

For your information, the rear socket came only on XT, XZ+, and XZA+, which has now been removed on the XZA+ as per Mr. J Ravi Sir's ownership review.

Is it not possible to put a 12V socket in the slot ?

My car doesn't have the socket too, and it's a feature that I wanted and specifically checked and noted in the test drive car, as well as the car in the showroom

I don't understand the rationale behind removing this socket from only the top model [anger]. On the contrary such small features are provided in the higher/ top models by car makers, to differentiate from base/ lower models.

I did write to Tata motors about it and I am hopeful they will do something about the issue.

Yes you can, but you'll have to source the power from engine bay, my experience with XMA, Tata has 2 type of wiring harness, one for XE, and XM, and another for the higher variants.

Because when I fixed the fog lamps, there was no oem wire for the same, and I remember an XM owner on our forum put tweeters, and had to power from speakers separately.

Issue observed: Hot air/ Heat coming from RHS leg side AC vent panel

I am facing an issue that is causing discomfort to me and I would like to know if anyone else is also facing such issue.

I have observed the issue as I set my AC temp to 25 or 26 degrees. If other TAIers are setting it at a lower temperature, can you set it at 26 for some time while driving and let me know if you also face the same issue.

1. When I set the AC to blow air towards the leg side, then the vents on the RHS of the central console which are near to the driver's left leg (see pic below for these vents) blow out air that is so hot that I can feel the heat through my trousers and socks and after some time I have to move my leg away.

2. Even when I set the AC to blow air only from the top vents (means no air will blow from the lower vents), even then the side panel having the vents becomes hot and radiates so much heat while driving that I have to move my leg away after some time.

If anyone has noticed the same issue till now, or notices it now after driving wiith AC set to 26 degrees, please let me know. This will help in knowing if this is an isolated issue in my car, or every Nexon has this issue.
Thanks !

AC temperature issue in all Nexons

I got the above issue checked at the service centre at the time of first service on 10th Sep.

The engine was started and kept running for some time. The airflow from lower side vents was set to OFF and AC temp set to 25.5 degrees. After some time the plastic panel as shown in picture above became quite hot.

The temperature was measured with a digital thermometer probe and rose up to 45 degrees. The service manager seemed surprised, but I had been maintaining this all along. In fact in real life driving conditions when the car keeps running on the road for more than half an hour, the hot air almost singed the skin on my leg, and the temperature if measured then will be even higher.

The conclusion was that the issue will be there in all Nexons (not just my car)

I left the car at the service centre and by the evening I got the following update from them: the issue of panel becoming hot was fixed by them by opening the panel and using a thermal insulating material to prevent it from getting hot. However the issue of hot air was unresolved and needs to be looked into by Tata motors team.

On a recent trip of over 600kms to the hills in Uttarakhand I had to endure hot air on my legs throughout the trip because of this issue. I have already reported again to Tata motors.

It has been more than a month since the day of my first service, but I am still awaiting for a favorable reply from them. I am pretty sure the issue can be fixed but am annoyed at the delay.

Even after two months the update I have received from the Tata Motors senior Manager (field service) is that there is no update from Tata Motors on the resolution of issue of hot air from the AC side panels. This is indeed disappointing and seems the Tata motors team is unresponsive and not looking into the issue that affects all Nexon cars (not just mine). Very pathetic indeed !

Any ideas on how to elicit a positive response or to how to push them to get this resolved ?

Haven't heard this issue with the other Nexon owners. Not sure how you concluded its a common Nexon issue and not in just your car. I suggest raise a complaint in the TMSC app. This helped me earlier. If this doesn't get resolved then talk to territory manager.

+1 to the above view, have been using my Nexon XMA since 4 months and have no such hot air being thrown from these vents, though now as winter has set in, I use the heater, and get warm air.

I am using the Diesel one since past 1 month+ and till now use AC at speed 1 but haven't had this issue so far. I did recently a 600 kms trip but at no point faced such an issue. I think this hot air issue was raised by some Tiago owner(s) but haven't heard it from other Nexon owners.
