Even though this is not the time to discuss this thing I want to say that the loss of Karl Slym is a huge loss for TML at the time when they are waiting for a turn around. Addition of Slym to TML was a huge step and the new product offensive were about to come. Even though the events on 3/02/2014 may not be postponed but surely they have lost a leader.

Getting another one with astonishing knowledge of Indian auto scene is a tough task for sure.

Once again R.I.P Karl Slym..!!

Tata Motors' managing director Slym died in Bangkok

Tata Motors’ Managing Director Karl Slym died on Sunday in Bangkok after a fall from a hotel’s 22nd floor in Yannawa district.

He was visiting Bangkok to attend a meeting of the Board of Directors of Tata Motors Thailand Ltd.

"The company shares the grief of Karl Slym’s wife and family at their irreparable loss," Tata Motors said in a statement.

The company’s spokesman said Slym seemed to have fallen from a higher floor of a hotel in Bangkok. Expressing condolence at the sudden demise of Slym, Tata Motors Chairman Cyrus P Mistry said: "I am deeply saddened to inform you about the untimely and tragic demise of our company’s Managing Director, Karl Slym."

Yannawa police was alerted at 7.45am that a foreigner fell from the 22nd to the fourth floor of a hotel in Sathorn area.

Initial police investigation showed that he checked into the hotel with his wife on January 24 and was scheduled to check out today.

It was reported that police found a suicide note in this room. His wife was still in shock.

It looked like what Jagadish Khattar was for Maruti, same is Karl Slym for TML. Hope TML will try to cope with personal loss of a great leader in automobile industry.

I recollect the full page ads of GM India - (Chevrolet) promises of 3 years free maintenance guarantee with Karl keeping his hand in the heart. R.I.P - Karl Slym!!

Something is not clear and correct here. Why would he commit suicide when his career was in peak position ?

Don't know if it was really a suicide, murder or an accident? Will the world ever get to know the truth ?
