During 2nd service of my vista I did not refuel my Vista and it had very little fuel left when I gave it to TASS. Upon returning, I stalled with EMPTY tank just near the refuel bunk. Took at 1 liter bottle and had my Vista filled; then took it to the bunk. It drank exactly 43.1 at the bunk which means it drank 44 liters in total.

BTW, the manual fuel pump is under driver's seat for Vista just in case if this happens to you. You gotta pump the Diesel if the tank is completely empty.

What is the tank capacity for vista? For Manza it is 44 L and it takes more than that to make tankful.

As per the Documents Vista's Tank capacity is 37Litres. but, Hari's Vista drunk more than 37Litres.

Even Sethumurugan Sir also faced same kind of problem in his Spark.

Please note the tank capacity mentioned for any car is in exclusion of the reserve fuel qty, which again varies from car to car. My Manza drank 46L even there was some fuel left in tank. Manza's tank capacity as per manual/brochure is 44L only.

Congratulations.
Have you driven the TATA Vista (Tata Turbo), before you went for Quadrajet.
I assume you are referring to TDi Vista for Tata Turbo. According to the Salesguy, TDi is no longer available for registration in Metro cities as it is BS3 compliant. Anyways, who would care for the outdated TDi technology when we have the proven mile-cruncher Quadrajet mill working in half a dozen models available in the market. [:)]

This makes perfect sense for my situation of filling 44L in a 37L stated tank. :agree: Thanks for the answer, Anshuman. Poor TASS technicians were not able to answer this point.

Congrats for you new ride buddy, are you sure that its pump for the diesel, under the seat. I doubt as mine do not have pump(Mine is punto 90, considering that vista also uses MJD).

I think I've used the wrong term there. It's not exactly fuel pump I meant. It is some kind of push button which is needed if there is air-lock in fuel pump. What's that term called?

It can be termed as priming pump. Well, someone told me earlier, this button is to reset fuel system in case of an accident. As a safety feature, the fuel system shuts off in case of any hard impact/ accident. Dont know what is true!! Both ideas sound legit.
Can anyone enlighten us here.

Manual mentions only the fuel capacity of the tank excluding reserve capacity. This practice is done so that owners drive their car with enough fuel. Reserve fuel is actually meant to be used in emergency only that too be used to find the nearest bunk. I recommend never to stall an engine without the engine having a single drop of fuel as this always leads to more wera and tear and will affect engine life. To avoid such a scenario Car manufacturer's don't add reserve fuel to the fuel tank capacity.

Dear Hari,
Another Vista welcome! My poorer Tdi has done relatively hassle free 35+K-
my advice, keep the tires on the higher side of recommended- 35 psi in front and 32 in the back-bit bouncy ride, but great for mileage
Also if you have any complaints, mail customer care-the next time you will get better service-ASS is not TMLs string point so better to have low expectations and be happy than vice-versa!
