The Tata Harrier has completed one year in the Indian market, and so far, the carmaker has sold over 15,000 units of the SUV. First launched in January 2019, the Harrier was the first vehicle to be built on the company's new OMEGArc platform, and also employ the new Impact 2.0 design philosophy.

To commemorate the Harrier's first anniversary, the company has announced a new customer appreciation campaign - 1 With My Harrier, from January 9 to January 19, 2020. Existing Harrier owners will get a membership to Harrier Service Gold Club, entitling them to avail discounts and benefits worth up to ₹ 8,400 on any service facility availed over the next 2 years. Plus, Tata Motors is also offering an ₹ 5000 Amazon Gift Voucher as a referral bonus for any customer referring to his friends and family to buy a Harrier. Harrier owners will also get a personalised badge, and an opportunity to give their SUV a makeover with exclusive Scuff Plates specially designed for this occasion, a complimentary wash & vacuum clean and a special 40-point check-up as well. Tata is also offering pick-up and drop to the service station during the campaign days.

2020 Tata Harrier With AT And Sunroof Could Launch Soon In India

Tata-Harrier-Pro-Edition.jpg

With the auto sector expected to regain momentum, the homegrown brand has more than 12 products waiting in the pipeline. Butshcek believes that the volumes will start to improve when the transition phase from BSIV to BSIV gets over and his company “has the firepower” to outperform the market in the Financial Year 2020-21.

Now, apart from the launch of the new premium hatchback Altroz and top of the line SUV Gravitas, the company will be banking on a facelifted Nexon, an updated Harrier with options like automatic transmission and sunroof, and BS-VI versions of the Tiago and Tigor, as well as some critical commercial vehicle models to generate volume momentum.

At the 2020 Auto Expo, Tata Motors will showcase several new products including the seven-seater Gravitas and electric vehicles as a proof of its readiness towards the future. The Altroz premium hatchback will go on sale on January 22 and the electrified Nexon with a possible price tag of around Rs. 17 lakh is not far away from launching either.

Tata Harrier BS6 prices to be higher by about Rs 1 lakh

tata-harrier-bs6-prices-leak-2.jpg

With BS6 deadline getting closer, Tata Motors is getting ready to update the existing Harrier BS4 to BS6 norms. Updated Harrier will get larger alloys, panoramic sunroof.

Launched in January last year, Tata Harrier sales in the initial months were impressive. But post the launch of MG Hector in June 2019, sales declined rapidly. What followed was Tata trying hard to get back the lost sales by launching new editions, accessories, warranty packages, etc.

Harrier is even offered at discounts of up to Rs 1 lakh. But nothing helped to get back the lost sales. Buyers still preferred the more expensive MG Hector, even though they have to wait for about 3 months or more.

Tata will once again try to get back lost sales with the launch of Harrier BS6. Though it will not come with petrol engine, it will come with missing features like 18 inch dual tone alloys, panoramic electric sunroof, etc. It will also get the automatic transmission.

This time around, the compact SUV will also receive a factory-fitted electric panoramic sunroof. The existing model gets a manual sunroof as an accessory. Reports suggest that the 2020 Tata Harrier might also get tyre pressure monitoring system. Though, it could be exclusively offered on the top-end trim.

Now after the Dark Harrier, This is the next best looking harrier according to me, or probably, its the fascination of the new color palette I am not sure, but I am liking this red color as well. However, if in market for Harrier, Black would be my only choice.

There were many issues mentioned about the harrier during the launch phase, have you faced any of those issues mentioned? issues on fit and finish, ICE conking off etc? Do throw light on those aspects.
So far I have completed 4.6k km with my car. Competed first servicing and 40 point check ups during harrier 1 year anniversary camp. So far i have faced the below issues:

1. ICE - hanging of system, Screen goes blank. However, this problem got rectified after software update. Now it is running fine.
2. Jerk during acceleration: Got rectified after cleaning of air filter.
3. Occasional screeching noise while braking. Noise comes once or twice. After that it runs smooth. This is to be checked during second service.

Fit and finish of the car is good. No complaint. However painting at unnoticeable corners/edges is not smooth. It is not visible to a normal person. You have to look closely to find out. Apart from that this car is an absolute delight for highway run. Mid range is very strong, pulls nicely. Superb handling, high speed manners, well weighted steering makes this car a fun to drive highway cruiser. In city also you can drive this vehicle without any issue.
